Re: Increase/Decrease Octave?
Thank you both. I could be missing something on my Korg, but I think it's built in to only allow shifting up and down 1 octave. I was going through the manual and I think the only way to go further is with a global adjustment. Kind of just looking to do something on the fly. Will definitely try the ...

Re: Increase/Decrease Octave?
That certainly helps after I lay down a section. Is there perhaps a way to do it so that what gets read in from my MIDI device is transposed while playing?

Increase/Decrease Octave?
I'm using a MIDI keyboard, playing a high part that goes off the top end of my keyboard. I only have one octave switch on my keyboard, so I'm hoping Mixcraft has a way that I can make the notes come in 12 semitones higher. Is this possible?

Re: Sidechain Compression
@cactus-head - This is so perfect! Thank you so much for a wonderful example. I just put it on the settings you mentioned and its very close to what I am looking for. Time to play around a bit, but this is definitely much easier than trying to learn the sidechain compression effect. So many ways to ...

Re: Sidechain Compression
Volume is definitely the right option here it seems. Just not getting the best effect with a synth bass driving the audio control. Perhaps there's a better way to automate volume steadily going up and down? I came across sidechain compression as the primary way. Basically I just want to give a speci...

Re: Sidechain Compression
Hey Greg, Sorry just getting back around to this now. Trying this out -- I've got an audio controller on the track that I want the effect on. I have that linked to a Synth Electric Bass that is acting like a metronome. I have a long list of parameters to control. 1) Does this all sound right so far?...

Sidechain Compression
Hi, Learning this technique and curious what I can use that's already built in, versus having to go out and find some VSTs. I'm trying to make one of those pulsating sounds on a synth, where the volume goes up and down rhythmically, typically to the beat of a kick drum. I have started by setting up ...

Re: Documents/Celemony/Separations
Hi,
Just noticed this folder was pretty massive on my PC as well. Unsure what is safe to delete and what is not, seems like there is no builtin temp cleanup from Melodyne?
Anyone have recommendations on how to keep this clean?

Is there a way to have 'versions' right in a project?
For example, I have two possible intros to a song I'm working on. The only difference is a few measures are removed in one version. Is it possible to 'save' this version in my project somehow, or do I have to 'save as' a separate project? The problem there would be I would continue working on only o...

Re: How to change the default drum map
Hi, Okay, when I tested it, I created a clip, changed the drum map, and it worked, BUT I had done it with two different presets of the same virtual instrument. When I tried saving TD-20 with EZDrummer, it went back to the basic EZDrummer map. There is a way to make a custom drum map (see page 125 o...

Re: How to change the default drum map
Hi, Did you try setting Addictive Drums as the virtual instrument with the drum map you want in a Mixcraft template file, and then opening the template file for a new project? Greg There could be a setting I'm missing here -- My understanding is I can't set a drum map until there are notes on the &...

How to change the default drum map
I made a template project which pre-loads Addictive Drums 2. The problem is after I record, the MIDI mapping that loads on the piano roll is Addictive Drums 2, which is not correct when viewing it. For example it shows 'SNARE' where there are cymbal hits. I want to use the 'TD-20' mapping that is bu...

Setting up velocity curves for eDrums
I have been using a Roland eKit to play, and all the VSTs I use bring the sounds in very soft. I was told it is better to create a velocity curve within the DAW instead of changing my sensitivity on the kit itself -- something I had been doing previously. Are there any general tips or guides that ca...

Re: Default Virtual Instrument
Hi trevlyns,
Hope you had a nice 4th!
I found myself looking to do the same thing recently -- with another drum module actually as well!
I ended up going the same route as you plan, with the project template. I did not find a better solution otherwise.

Re: Mixing issues, or perception of certain sounds higher?
In this case, is it best to lower my overall master track, or should I go fine tune all the other tracks? I'm sure this doesn't have a simple answer, so maybe let me rephrase that -- When I am experiencing the clipping on my master track, what's the best place to start? How helpful would applying EQ...
