Re: And Now For Something Completely Different.....
chrisshort,
Cool story on how this all happened. The track is lovely. I wish I had a female vocalist to use! Sound wise, to my ears I think it's a bit thin / trebly sounding, but otherwise well balanced.
I really like the cover art too.
Great job!

Re: They Have My Love
Hi M@rkus, Thanks for listening! There is no real steel guitar. There is a real acoustic guitar there that you can hear more clearly in some of the quieter moments but otherwise just providing some percussive rhythm. The only real instruments are the acoustic and my voice. Everything else is played ...

Re: New song... The Waste Land
Hey M@rkus, Nice song there! It has a real Tom Petty / Dire Straits vibe to it. Great intro too. From a sound quality perspective, it's really clear and open sounding. If anything I would say it might be slightly too bright. It could be just the tambourine or symbols coming out a bit too much. Maybe...

They Have My Love
Just finished another song. I'm trying to write songs that are more personal to me. This one contemplates having a near death experience and fighting to live for my family. The old man with the blue eyes is my grandfather who I always thought would be the one that welcomes me to the afterlife if the...

Re: A song about the war in Ukraine
Thanks for listening and for the comments and questions! The chords are Am, Dm, Fm, E7, G7, AbM, F#M. I might be a bit off on some of those... I play guitar and wrote the song on an acoustic guitar, but I'm a bit limited with my knowledge of chord structures, and I play and write mostly by ear. Anyw...

Re: Crackling again suddenly
Wow it's unfortunate that you have to do all that. I would rather not change my workflow for an issue that suddenly appeared out of nowhere and that shouldn't be happening. In your case, I would run Latencymon and see if you can determine what's causing the issue. I would also look at your power se...

Re: Crackling again suddenly
Thanks Cactus Head. I have been all over task manager and I haven't seen those. I don't think I'm running any 32bit vst.

Re: Crackling again suddenly
Sorry I was logged in, so the interface had the dark blue background. I thought the yellow looked rather nice against the blue.

Re: Crackling again suddenly
What if you try making a bounce track of these vst tracks along with the effects? I Didn't try that, but I did Freeze them at all one point. I can try it... [/color] Have you tried putting other plugins on the tracks? I was all over the place with plugins. I probably had a compressor on every track...

A song about the war in Ukraine
I'm deeply troubled by this war and so I decided to write a song about the injustice, despair, but also the hope I feel for the Ukrainian people. My daughter helped with some of the vocals. I wasn't able to give it all the treatment I wanted because of an issue I'm having with Mixcraft / my computer...

Re: Crackling again suddenly
Here's a vid of the issue. The audio recording is coming from my loudspeakers to my camera mic but you'll get the idea. It plays fine at first but as soon as I move locations, it crackles. It's not the same every time. Sometimes I get 10-20 minutes of good use, but eventually it happens. https://dri...

Re: Crackling again suddenly
I've tried reducing the sample rate to 48000 and I've also been playing back at a buffer 0f 1024. When I was recording my acoustic and vocals, I was using 96000 / 192 buffer with no issues. Try 48000 and 512 which is pretty standard and make sure that your windows settings are set to the same in au...
