Re: Struggling as non-US user
The association would vary depending on key. Indeed. But I thought the OP was referring to key signatures where a solfege-derived system is used. Wikipedia explains - (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_signature_names_and_translations) - "Fixed Do key notation – used (among others) in Italian,...

Re: Struggling as non-US user
I'm not entirely sure but in Europe the solfege method is often used and I believe Do = C, Re = D, Mi = E etc

Re: Basic MIDI Connectivity Question
Thanks for the help @TrevsAudio.
@jwarv, I've not bought anything yet. I was just asking the question as I could envisage problems trying to use 2 USB sources at the same time but it seems I should be OK. I'll let you know when I take the plunge

Basic MIDI Connectivity Question
My current MIDI keyboard connects to my interface via a 5 pin plug. I need to replace the keyboard and the one I'm thinking of getting only has USB connectivity. Obviously, that means I won't be able to connect it to my interface. So, I have a couple of questions : - would I be able to use it as a r...

Re: BPM detection
Just thought I'd report back in case this is of any interest to anybody. I ended up using a phone app called "chordai". It does much more that I want - It will give you the chord progression of a song like Riffstation among other things. It has the advantage of doing it all in real time an...

BPM detection
I'm looking for a means of identifying the tempo of an imported clip. I don't thin MC can do it natively so I assume a plugin is needed. I've come across Hornet Songkey but that does a lot more than I'm really looking for. I'd be happy to use it if it comes to it but I'm hoping someone will know of ...

How To Imitate Rickenbaker Guitar Sound
Maybe a bit specialised for a general forum but as the title says I'm wanting to get that classic Ricky guitar sound from my Strat for a couple of songs. I've messed with Eq, Chorus and various pickup combinations and while I've got some nice sounds they're not close to the real thing. I've looked f...

Re: Mixing orchestral and jazz pieces from Musescore
@starkman.................... I tried to do what you're attempting and I'm sure you'll be disappointed in the result. Mixcraft can't import MXML, which is a shame as it's fairly comprehensive. Your only choice is to Export/Import MIDI. This has many shortcomings. Not so much in the sounds themselves...

Re: Advice wanted on Monitor (Visual)
So, I'm looking at 27" 1080p IPS monitor. Does anybody use something like that and can comment on readability of small text, icons etc?
Thanks

Advice wanted on Monitor (Visual)
I was using a 23" TV as a monitor. It was fine for most things but I decided I needed something bigger. So, I bought a 32" TV. It's a LED HD screen with 1366X786 resolution. It works great as a TV but as a monitor it's not very good at all. Text especially is not at all clear and likewise ...

Re: Transfer Settings to New PC
Thanks Greg. I think I'll have a lot more trouble locating and re-registering my VST's. I'm not looking forward to this at all!

Transfer Settings to New PC
I've treated myself to a new PC. It should arrive in a few days. I've spent quite a bit of time over the years setting up MIxcraft how I like it and can't remember exactly what I've done or how I did it in some cases. Are there "configuration" or "settings" files that hold this s...

Need Help With Drum Samples/Loops
I've recently started using MIDI instruments. It's lots of fun and so powerful. Anyway, I'm having problems with drums. I've never played drums (or percussion) and find that I can't think like a drummer so it's really hard to build musically sympathetic drum track for whatever I'm working on. The ob...
