If it was me... I wouldn't record vocals while useing any plug-in or effect. Just do it dry. Then, add your effects after. That's a good rule of thumb for many reasons. Also, if you're still having trouble with latency... cut the preview off. For monitoring vocals, try leaving one side of your headp...

This probably won't work for all styles... But here's what I do on the road: I'm using a Behringer V-Amp (kinda like a Line-6 Pod), but you should be able to do the same thing by tweaking the amp effects pre-sets in Mixcraft. Anyway... Hmmm... after much digging... I found the heavily burried lightsnake product page. What's interesting is, the poster mentioning a simular problem uses MC4 too. But that may be just a weird coincidence.
