FOUND IT!
They are set at mdi channel 8; if I enter it myself it's midi channel 1
So I selected all the notes, changed the channel to 1, and it plays!!

Re: Import of Midi file question
Appreciate the suggestion but when I hit my mini-keyboard within the same range of the notes in the impanated file, they play fine. I experimented with another project file and copied a midi track I created (organ) to a Kontakt track and it played fine. So my working theory is it's the fact it's a m...

Import of Midi file question
I have a midi track I want to use - and assign a Kontakt instrument - either Chris Hein Horns or Chris Hein Strings But when I do that, it won't play. It plays fine with any of the Accoustica instruments an some other selections. I suspect there is something about the format of the midi that Kontakt...

Re: Separate effects for lanes?
Hi Greg - Here's my confusion. I have one track with Kontakt. I have four instruments. They all have a different midi channle (1,2 ,3 4). I add 4 lanes and assing those midi channels accordingly (1 to lane 1 etc) But the output of each instrument says st.1 And the only other option is st 2 I don't s...

Re: Separate effects for lanes?
OK - so I see I don't understand yet. The aux sections below (1.1 Kt. st 1, 1.2 Kt aux etc) do not refer to the lanes I have on that track I have 5 instruments - 5 lanes. I figured I need to assign a different midi channel to each (1 through 5). I expected - or want - each of those lanes / midi chan...

Re: Separate effects for lanes?
Very Helpful Greg! But am I limited to 4 with Kontakt? I can add a 5th lane and assign it to midi port 5 And it plays - but down below on the individual parts for automation and effects, it still only shows aux 1 though 4. With a whole lot unassigned. Is there a way to assign them? Or is that limita...

Separate effects for lanes?
I've been using Chris Hein Horns Compact for a while and just purchased Chis Hein Strings Compact Typically I've been putting each instrument on a separate track, which implies a separate instance of Kontakt for each. A while ago on this forum I learned I can assign a different instrument to a diffe...

Measuring average volume of a section (all tracks or individual)
I may not be asking the question clearly - but I'll try to explain. Is there a tool / plug in that can measure (I guess is decibels) the average for a section of a song (all tracks) or a given track (by soloing it)? I have a song where it's obvious to my ears that some sections are louder than I wan...

Re: EZDrummer - individual tracks in Mixcraft Question
Hey Trevor - thanks! Sorry I was so long in getting back to this; maybe it's my imagination or my ears or something, but today it seemed to work. 've noted sometimes saving te project and reopening it helps; no reason to think though that though. Anyway, I agree with your approach - that is relative...

EZDrummer - individual tracks in Mixcraft Question
I can use the mixer in EZDrummer to affect the volumes on the individual microphones (kick, snare, overhead etc); and when I hit the "plus" sign on the left bottom corner on the ezd track, I see each of them. However, it does not seem that automation (in particular, volume) works for those...

Ending the song at a specific beat marker
Minor issue with an easy workaround - but how do I tell Mixcraft to end the song at a specific beat marker? My song fades out and at 136 every track ends. But for some reason, it keeps playing all the way to 145. I realize when I mix down I can simply select the range from 136 back to the beginning ...
Re: EZD help
Never mind - it suddenly works as expected. I don't know what I did - I know I put a blank clip on then erased it. Don't know why that would work
EZD help
It's been a VERY long time since I recorded anything. I finished a simple song but I did the drums using the piano roll and "point / click" rather than using the pads on my MPK mini like I had in the past. I totally forgot how to record drums using EZDrummer that way. What happens (and I r...

The tracks and the effects I set copied perfectly. It turns out my issues were in setting up certain 3rd party plugins
