Re: How to change my registration ID
Actually I'm getting ready to do the second option, nuke the C: drive. Windows has slowed down enough over the last year where it's time to clean it up, so I'll be doing a fresh install, and moving to Windows 8. Does that mean I can use a new email address when I enter my authorization code?
Thanks.
Thanks.

How to change my registration ID
My registration ID is an email that's been dead for years. I'd like to update my registration to my current email. Can I do that, and if so, how?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Windows 8 compatibility?
I tried to search the forum for "windows 8" but the forum software won't accept either "windows" or "8" even if I specify that the term has to be found as specified, even if I put the phrase in quotes! So the question is, I'm getting ready to install Windows 8. Will I h...

One thing to be aware of is that a USB turntable has a built-in preamp that includes RIAA equalization. 78s did not use RIAA equalization so the signal you end up with after adjusting the pitch to correct for 45rpm to 78rpm you will probably find you have way too much bass and way too little treble ...

If you're not familiar with sia's noise reduction capabilities, let me as an independent customer strongly suggest you follow Acoustica Greg's suggestion and download the product, install it and read over the relevant help system topics. You use Acoustica's noise reduction like this: When you're don...

Depends on what you mean by flat :) In an audio sense, flat meaning that the digitization adds no peaks or dips, flat is good. If someone is suggesting that high bit rates are somehow insipid, I beg to disagree strongly. The higher the bit rate, so long as your hardware can support decoding it in re...

It would be nice to have a compressed lossless format, and outside of Apple and Microsoft players, flac is by far the most widely supported. In the Microsoft environment, though, there's another possibility. Microsoft has a lossless flavor of wma. It uses the same wma extension and can be played by ...

Sounds like the computer is several years old, but still quite suitable for digitizing records and tapes if sia is the only thing running at the time. One thought: depending on where you live, people are probably discarding computers of the generation you're using. You might see if there's a local c...

As Don says, a loud buzzing noise almost certainly means a ground loop. If flipping the plug doesn't help, or if you're already using 3-prong grounded plugs ( and NOT using a 3-to-2-prong converter!), connect a wire to the chassis of your tape deck and to the metal case on your PC. Also, whatever ca...

If your preamp is working with your stereo it's probably not your problem. What does your setup look like? I assume you're going from the stereo phono outs on the preamp through a phono to 3.5 adapter and into a sound card Line-In? If the sound card has color-coded inputs, you're going into the gree...

By the way, I looked at the Amazon UK listing you referenced and that's a decent price. Xitel is an Australian company that's been around for decades, and I understand from British friends that they're widely distributed in the UK. If you read of a red box version of the product, the only difference...
