I have maybe over half of the NI product range. There are audio demos on the site - there will be a demo track with several examples on each product page. For example, click here and listen through the demos. The full synthesizers (FM8, Massive and Reaktor) can all be used for electronica. Also, qui...

Steve, I wouldn't worry about multiple partitions. (a) The samples should go on the fastest drive (large sample libraries easily clog up bottlenecks on slow HDDs). (b) The programs generally should go on the drive with the OS. If (a) and (b) are different drives, so much the better. I see you have W...

Make sure Mixcraft knows where the play vst is stored and it should just load like any other instrument.

Pierre, For NI Kore expansions you would download their free Kore Player. The Player also has a lot of free sounds included. Ditto for Camel Audio. When you buy a pack from them you'd have to download their Alchemy Player. EDIT: Whoops! Scratch Elements from the list! It's been gutted. They've remov...

Linda, the nanokey has 4 inbuilt velocity curves. Check the documentation to see how to change them. It's not a Mixcraft question. It's how the nanokey interprets the pressure and therefore what velocity data it sends to MC. If none of the velocity curves give you the outcome you need, another very ...

Ps. The other synth might have been Sylenth. However, it appears they haven't done any updates on it for a couple of years so I don't know how well-supported it is. But the sounds are rich and organic so it's definitely worth a look. A colleague on another forum initially told me about the synth I'm...

Hey Pierre, I'm not up on the technicalities of it so I can't offer a solution. I do know that if I am working in a DAW or standalone instrument, it ties up the keyboard and if I open something else, it does not have access to the keys. I think it's a bit like the routing of train lines. If the midi...

Oh yes, I know JMJ ......and Vangelis, Yanni, Mike Oldfield. :D I'd imagine that's why you were looking for analogue synth samples, for that organic '80s tone. Honestly, I think you'd stuggle to find those sounds with something as sharp and contemporary as Razor. For smoother stuff I reach for NI Ab...

I need to ask this also, I have quite a few instrumentals that I've made using Fruity Loops 9, but every time I mix one of my creations, it's really obvious that it's a virtual creation, and I don't want the quality of what I've written to be taken down by inferior instruments. I have a way to conv...

Hey Pierre, it's difficult to answer. It's great for what it does - I'd see it sitting in the arsenal of DJ's, cutting edge club producers, maybe dubstep, tech, house, techno, trance etc. But all of the demo tracks, even their pads, the sounds were very sharp so if you wanted a really beautiful evol...

I replied, then deleted it, then thought, "No, you asked"...sooo... It is extraordinarily difficult to get authentic sounding guitar with VSTi's, especially for fast heavy stuff. Even the best current attempt at it, Electri6ity, is still pickable as being synthetic. Sampled guitars have co...
