Re: What levels are YOU mixing down to for mastering???

All of the upload sites are going to limit your material if it's out of hand anyway, no matter what you do, so it it best to make sure you send out a track that's mastered in such a way that when they get hold of it it won't be limited into oblivion. ... This is incorrect. The mainstrain sites don'...

Re: need help

If I had to place money on it I would say the backing is in the wrong key (or the melody is). Your ear adjusts to it because you are so close to it, mine doesn't.

Re: need help

The melody sounds like it is in a different key to the backing.

Re: Bouncing Tracks.

Well so far, the only way I can do it is by going to 'File' then 'Mix Down To' and create a single WAV file that way, then load this new track into the project and solo it. It would be easier just to 'Select All Tracks' then 'Bounce Down To' (Or Mix Down To) Master Track but I can't find a way to d...

Re: Any "bundle" file save option? (Moving projects from v.7 to v.8)

Is MC 7 still installed? If so, just add its plugin folder to MC8's plugin list.

Re: Clarification for the "Copy project files to" option

...once every file and all backups, etc. are in the song folder, and I open only one saved project file (IE .mx9 file) will the other saved .mx* files then point to the new location as well? Almost. The mx file won't 'point' to the correct folder, The MC project will look first in the original loca...

Re: Clarification for the "Copy project files to" option

In my opinion this feature should not exist and can end up in tears. 1. It ignores all backups 2. It only copies files that happen to be in the project at that time. It does not copy all the raw data files, so even if you copied the backups manually they would not work. It is best to get into good p...

Re: cant mute track for recording

Hi, If you soloed the track when you had that problem, would both tracks have played? Has that problem ever happened in Mixcraft 9 build 447? Greg I'm not much help here Greg. I can't remember if MC9 has the bug or not. It's just something that happens now and again - and has done for many years. W...

Re: cant mute track for recording

Sounds suspiuciosly like that bug many of us reported - where two tracks become selected instead of one and you can't get rid of it.

Re: Takes To Tracks

Hi, For now if you made the extra empty tracks ahead of time and then recorded your multiple takes, you can highlight and down arrow the takes into the new tracks pretty quickly. -Nathan That's what I do already. As explained above, the project window focus shifts when you do that, so you have to d...

Re: Playback Speed

It worked for me when I tried it, too. What's different about the clips that go out of whack? They are definitely using the project tempo? Greg Did you have any clips not locked into the grid - i.e., edited freehand? I don't know what is different about the clips that are out of whack. Yes, they ar...

Re: Playback Speed

I suspect that an edited clip is going to cause problems for such an operation if the front (left hand side) of it has been edited freehand and is not locked into the grid. In any case the method is like taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut. All that is needed is a facility to slow down the playback...
