Re: File collaboration

Hi! I'm doing some long distance collaboration as well using a file sharing website called "Dropbox". I create a separate folder for each project then, I make sure all the project files are copied/stored in that folder and I make it the working folder as well. Then, I upload them all to Dr...

Amp modeling in realtime

Can the amp modeling features be used while tracking rather than adding them after or is that not possible?

Hi! I saw the same video and, my curiosity was piqued as well. I asked about using a stomp box style compressor on other home recording forums and it basically seems to come down to "experimenting" to get the sound you want. If you look around different forums, the most often asked questio...

Personally, the constant ticking of a metronome in my ear is quite distracting when tracking so, I just program a very simple kick & snare track on my drum machine to serve as the metronome. Having a kick and snare to play along to has a little more "natural" feel to it than a metronom...

In general, avoid USB mics and get an audio interface. At a minimum, I'd say you'll need a dynamic mic or two as well as a condensor mic or two and a set of studio monitors as well. They can be bought used from around $100 on up. Look on ebay, Craigslist and even Guitar Center or Musicians Friend wi...

Hi! Saw your posting on CL and on the Mixcraft website. I'm just a couple of towns away from you and am using Mixcraft 5 with an M Audio KeyRig 49 keyboard and an M-Audio Fast Track II interface myself. Forgive me for stating/asking the obvious but, have you tried disconnecting the keyboard and rebo...

I have an ION Discover keyboard that works great as a portable device and an M Audio KeyRig 49 as well.

The ION is a little small for "piano" work. Other than that, no problems with it.

I've actually attended several of their workshops and enjoyed them very much. At least the workshops at my local GC, the focus has pretty much been on the hardware and processes and not platform specific... One of the users on a home recording I belong to pointed me in the direction of Mixcraft. I d...

First step.....have you tried rebooting your computer?

If that doesn't work, have you tried reinstalling Mixcraft?

Mixcraft should run on just about any off-the-shelf computer from Best Buy, Staples and the like. The stock configurations should meet or exceed Mixcraft's system requirements.

Correct. The balance won't make a difference. I may not have been completely clear on my first answer.

It's actually on the RH side of the ARM button. There should be a drop down arrow that shows your audio source/sound card. Again, select the channel you DON'T hear.....prior to recording.

Activate the audio track in question, click the ARM button. Your audio source should be displayed. Then select the channel/side you're NOT hearing.

So if you're only hearing the left channel, click on the right channel in the selection box.
