Re: Is there anyways to cut out a kick drum from a drum loop?

few avenues to go down....one would be to split it on both side of the kicks and then leave gaps or render it to a new clip....or else to drop the volume at that part of the loop....personally speaking it seems like a lot of fuss for a loop thats probably gonna lack swing and sound rather garden var...

Re: Timestretch? (Or something like it...)

record your clip.click on the clip/or click on "sound" in the left hand corner of the DAW and the editor/piano roll will open at the bottom of the DAW,on the left hand side you'll be able to adjust the tempo.

Re: Timestretch? (Or something like it...)

yeah what they said really, if you want a bit of a psychedelic effect you can alter the tempo and play around with delay and render a few clips and layer them, depends really on how much of a stretch you want and on how explorative you are.

Re: Does Mixcraft have a step sequencer for making drum beats?

Probably 80% of my posts on here are centred around spreading the gospel of Fxpansion Geist,i use it in all the music i make and you can get it for half price now and it has a million and one uses and features,it has all the features of that step sequencer in that vid and then some, you can check it ...

Re: How to make that stellar bass in rap songs that Mark Bliss is so fond of???

the TAL series of synths are a good start for all this bass related and they are free, alot of the very low bass sounds in hip hop are from 808's, plenty of free 808 samples around if you do a little search.

Re: Question about EZ drummer

fxpansion does a range of drum vsts,-i went from using Beatcraft to Geist which was in spired by Guru but there is also BFD which is probably more comparable to EZdrummer and Tremor too,-what i love about Geist is that it has a huge library but that its also very easy to import your own samples and ...

Re: Question about EZ drummer

Fxpansion geist 2 is about to be released and the original Geist can now be bought for half the price....i cannot emphasize enough what a fantastic beat machine/sampler/slicer/drum sequencer it is.....would rate it miles above any other drum vst...very easy to use and very versatile no matter what s...

Re: 8Gb or 16Gb?

thanks for the replies,folks.

I dont game and specifically want to get a machine just for music, need a laptop as opposed to a desktop though in order to stay portable....seems like all the 7200rpm laptops are specifically made for gamers.

Re: 8Gb or 16Gb?

thanks kindly for your advice,-was further wondering whether having 16GB RAM and a quad core would make a 5400rpm hard drive worthwhile as all of the 7200rpm laptops are at least 500 bucks more. the laptop i am looking at is this one http://www.pcworld.ie/Product/lenovo-y5 ... 69/396.0.0 thank you!
