Acoustica Greg wrote:Hi,

What do you have selected as your playback device in Preferences? Are you using Wave, ASIO or WaveRT?

Greg

Well, here's something odd. Pianissimo through the Altecs is now sounding terrible....unbalanced with tinny highs, weak bass and sounds very "contained" with no presence. However, Authorized Steinway Basic still sounds as good as it always has with wonderful balance, fullness and presence....

So does the "workaround", ....uh, work? Manitsky, did you ever try it?

As a paying customer, I'm also curious as to a timeline for Pianissimo updates/improvements. Many good suggestions have been presented to make the product better, but......

Good speakers for playing through computer's sound card?

I've been using good Sony and Audio Technica headphones for practicing, but they become a bit uncomfortable after wearing for a while. So I've been playing through my computer speakers which is an old Altec Lansing ACS45 Powercube system (satellites/subwoofer) and it sounds excellent, much like a re...

Exactly. But at least it works for some, and for that I'm thankful. Even the slightest latency drives me nuts.

Right. That was my mistake. I meant to type "line-IN". Both keyboards have line-out....not line-in. Brain fart.

Thanks, Greg. Too bad neither of my keyboards have line-out. :(

Getting sound from Pianissimo through keyboard's speakers?

I've been reading some forum posts and one Pianissimo user said you can run sound back into your keyboard's amp and onboard speakers. Not that it'd sound great, but just curious. Seems like the keyboard would need a line-in jack and run a connection from the computer's audio out?

I had very slight latency issues as well on my Vista 32 bit system using WaveRT, so downloaded and installed ASIO4ALL which fixed the latency completely. So for me, ASIO is the only way to go... HOWEVER... it doesn't always start when opening Pianissimo. Sometimes I have to open Pianissimo two or th...

Sorry for all the posts but wanted to update the progress. Got rid of the noise but not until I discovered changing settings in the ASIO driver doesn't take effect until Pianissimo is closed and reopened. The biggest aggravation is I've figured out the Pianissimo adjustment settings to suit my taste...

Update. Got it going by changing some settings then closing and restarting Pianissimo. The latency issue seems to have been resolved and the overall sound seems better and cleaner but now I'm getting quite a lot of noise...crackling and electronic sounds as I press certain keys. So I'm playing with ...

Hi Greg, Just rebooted and the ASIO option is now available and I've selected it. But I'm getting no sound at all through Pianissimo. In preferences under the ASIO selection, beside "Default Output (Playback)", it says "Not connected 1" with nothing else available in the drop dow...

Hi,

No, I'm in the middle of a job right now (I'm a graphic designer), but will restart as soon as I reach a stopping point. I'll let you know.

Hi Greg,

I'm using the stand alone. Don't have a DAW. I don't plan on doing any recording or anything other than simply practicing classical pieces. It's just nice to hear that grand piano sound.

ASIO is disabled in preferences but could try the generic driver.
