What do you have selected as your playback device in Preferences? Are you using Wave, ASIO or WaveRT?

Good speakers for playing through computer's sound card?
I've been using good Sony and Audio Technica headphones for practicing, but they become a bit uncomfortable after wearing for a while. I had very slight latency issues as well on my Vista 32 bit system using WaveRT, so downloaded and installed ASIO4ALL which fixed the latency completely. So for me, ASIO is the only way to go... HOWEVER... it doesn't always start when opening Pianissimo. Sometimes I have to open Pianissimo two or th...

Sorry for all the posts but wanted to update the progress. Got rid of the noise but not until I discovered changing settings in the ASIO driver doesn't take effect until Pianissimo is closed and reopened. The biggest aggravation is I've figured out the Pianissimo adjustment settings to suit my taste...

Update. Got it going by changing some settings then closing and restarting Pianissimo. The latency issue seems to have been resolved and the overall sound seems better and cleaner but now I'm getting quite a lot of noise...crackling and electronic sounds as I press certain keys. So I'm playing with ...
