Re: Tips/plugins for midi sound quality? Orchestra

I have this one - mainly because it was free :D I have also previously downloaded the Spitfire player and some libraries, but have yet to install and try it out. It looks like a simple interface with advanced options. And they offer a large number of free and inexpensive sample packs (they call the...

Re: Bit Depth Confusion??

No. If you choose to dither, it should only be done once- so that would best be done when you render your 24 bit file to its final format. And btw, this is all just technical audio engineering theory, not personal opinion. If asked my opinion, I would say that dithering is about the last, teeniest, ...

Re: Unwanted pitch and tempo change on mixdown

For that interface, I would suggest the manufacturers asio driver for best results/lowest possible recording latency reasons. For your mix down issue, try mixing down to wav, with the same sampling rate settings as your project. If that works correctly, you should be able to convert the wav mix down...

Re: Bit Depth Confusion??

You can ignore the gui, its a known anomaly.

Your interface is recording at 24. Internally the daw operates at 32 floating integer.
Upon mixdown, you can select 24 if thats what you want.

Fwiw, I generally save/archive 24 bit copies, and (if desired), dither when mastering for example a 16 bit copy.

Re: Tips/plugins for midi sound quality? Orchestra

There are many options that work in Mixcraft, yes. Getting realistic sounds, articulations etc. Can be key improvements, but realistic horns can be especially challenging due to the wide variations in playing dynamics of orchestral horns. The trick is finding one that both sounds good and has a good...

Re: Can someone help a newbie how to install waves plugins

Similar to @heks tips: Install and update waves central With your DAW closed/not loaded- Run waves central, locate, install the waves titles you have purchased. Refer to the waves instructions. Upon loading the daw, it will scan for plug-ins while loading. If it still doesnt show up, open Mixcraft p...

Re: Vinyl Recording-Tracks too fast / Vinyl-Aufnahme-Spur viel zu schnell

The ASIO driver takes exclusive control to optimize latency for recording purposes. If an ASIO driver is available, you generally want to use that. (Note that in your screen shots, core audio shows 20ms, while ASIO shows 1.3) The next step is finding what buffer/latency setting your system functions...

Re: Save Every X minutes

I would still avoid any automatic save personally. If I make a few changes I like, I save. If not undo. I control it. Forget to save? My fault. How could the program ever accurately decide that? I would expect only frustration from it. I am not sure how some of those options function IE the Reaper g...

Re: TASCAM US16X8 and delay in recordings

Still dont understand why one would do that. But it would multiply the latency each trip, so yeah-I would expect a noticeable delay doing that. For example if it was 10ms each way, you would get ten out, ten in, and ten back in for thirty, etc. I suspect the buffers/latency might also be set to less...

Maybe you could clarify.

Your thread title says "piano roll" but your content seems to be about something else.

OK, Apology, in retrospect that sounds far more snarky than intended. I am in fact here trying to help you. The simple facts are: There are tons and tons (and tons) of plug-ins, virtual instruments, Samples and loops available to use in virtually any DAW you might care to use. Creating yet another, ...

The problem may be your gear or configuration.
