Re: Hard Drive Colon Cleanser Tip

You are not a sicko, I know the feeling, and many others share it too, but as has been said you can really come unglued deleting files 'just because' they are there. Files get corrupted all the time, and if your Mixcraft project files fall victim one day, you'll keenly regret deleting those backups....

Re: Do I need to add RAM?

The motherboard clock frequency determines what frequency the RAM runs at - putting 800MHz RAM in a motherboard running 667MHz won't magically run any better - it is clocked at 667MHz after all. Of course, if the mobo can clock to 800, then that's a different story, but any 667MHz RAM will be unstab...

Re: Do I need to add RAM?

If the machine boots into Windows, the RAM is likely fine. While mixing brands/types can be a recipe for disaster in some instances, you'd know by now if it wasn't going to work properly. The faster RAM will simply clock down (or be run at) the lower frequency and usually this presents no problem. W...

Re: Random Sound Issues in Mixcraft 9 RecStudio

Just my 2 cents, but you are at a real disadvantage using built-in soundcards for any DAW work. I know, plenty of people do and claim you can get away with it but it would pay to try and find a reasonable ASIO-capable external USB interface; it will make your life a whole lot easier. They can be ver...

Re: Sound Files In Library

Not a bug. Depends on permissions and the way your machine has been set up (to a certain extent). Users of many programs find they have to do this. You might know this already but a workaround it is to set the program to run in administrator mode all the time. Various ways to do it; I would right-cl...

Re: Moving automation with a clip.

Thanks for that. I think a nice feature would be to check a box and be able to move everything at once, but the workarounds will do it.

Re: Can anyone reccomend a Bass VST that works on Mixcraft 9?

Probably not ethical in the strictest sense (grey area) but after installing Cakewalk by Bandlab on the advice from a colleague to check it out, I wondered if any of the plugins supplied with that DAW would work with Mixcraft. Some do, some don't (and a licensing dialog box explains the reason some ...

Moving automation with a clip.

This is likely something I haven't found a way to do, but probably exists, so not a critique of Mixcraft. If I spend an hour adding nice automation to a track, then have to move the clip for some reason, none of the automation moves with it. Is there a method to link automation to a clip that I have...

Re: Mixing with Mike Sale and Free Membership

I subscribe to many YouTube channels with production and mixing as the theme and most of these really serious guys use ProTools, though one I subscribe to uses FL Studio and one uses Cakewalk by Bandcamp. The subjects are typically in-depth and the information usually valuable, but when they come to...

Thanks, never knew that control was there. That did the trick.

No sound playback in Sound Editor panel for wav files.

Hi team. I'm using Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio, 64bit build 447 on an older Intel i7 Windows 10 professional box with 16gb RAM and dual SSDs. I am working on a project originally recorded in Mixcraft 6, then converted over the years and tweaked in Mixcraft 7, 8 and now 9. I have used only the standard plu...

Re: Mixcraft 6.1 build 210 is now available!

This is the third time I've checked for an update from within Mixcraft Pro, downloaded the update and it has killed my existing installation. This time I thought I'd be clever and exited Mixcraft long before the download completed so I doubt anything was hanging around in memory - there were certain...

Re: Addictive Drums will not "Record" in Mixcraft 6

You're right on the money Dan. You cannot record in the usual sense - to get a beat from Addictive Drums into Mixcraft, simply create a Virtual Instrument track in Mixcraft, Select Addictive Drums as the instrument and click the Edit button to open the AD interface. Find the beat you want in AD, the...

If you disable Snap (turn it off completely) you should be able to select as you like.

Re: Query about 'Edit in External Editor'

If you choose the "edit actual sound" option, Mixcraft assumes you will simply edit the sound, then exit the editor, making any changes to the loaded sound un-reversible. If you choose that option then save the edited sound as something else, then the one you have already inserted into Mix...
