Re: Melda on the bench
They have an idea for a usp but it never gets anywhere and as an explanation they think no one wants it. A typical example for this is their MModernCompressor. This has a totally unique approach by ignoring thresholds and levels as they are used the traditional way and specifying a dynamic range in...

Melda on the bench
This is the successor to an earlier, quite enthusiastic review about Melda’s products. Let´s see how good they hold up to those advance laurels. Several months have elapsed, since I bought MTC (MTurboComp), looking for the perfect *versatile* compressor. In a way I found it, but not quite due to som...

Manual gain riding vs. compression on vocals
This thread is not strictly about plug-ins, in fact it is all about not using plug-ins, at least not compressors . But fret not, we will come to that eventually... The guitar slingers amongst us surely will remember Craig Anderton ´s book about making stomp-boxes. Well, nowadays he takes an interest...

Re: Can I prevent MX9 to load Melodyne upon starting?
Thanks Frantiac. Thats exactly the solution I was looking for. Unfortunately I have already uninstalled it. According to Greg I could install it at any time later, but I never purposefully installed it. I cannot remember if I ticked something during installation, I think it just was part of the MX9 ...

Re: Can I prevent MX9 to load Melodyne upon starting?
I don't know. I did not consciously install it.
But this is unelegant. I may need it some day.
Maybe one of the staff can chime in.

Can I prevent MX9 to load Melodyne upon starting?
Greetings.
The headline says it all.
I practically never use Melodyne, and this is by far the program module that takes the longest time upon loading.
I tried to deselect it in the "organize plugins" menu entry, but this does not change anything.
Thanks.

Re: mouse moves produce crackling upon playback
Thanks. I just found that it only happens when using the Firewire interface, not on the internal soundcard. And not on the other DAW w/firewire, as I said. One could say, there is strange things going on with W10, so it could be an interrupt problem or something like that, but the really strange thi...

[solved ]mouse moves produce crackling upon playback
Greetings. I noticed today that my mouse moves over the control area to the left produces unpleasant crackling noises during playback. This does not happen if I move the mouse over the audio tracks. I use MX9 on W10. This happens regardless of which mouse I use. Can somebody do a few fast frenetic m...

Re: Mixcraft STOCK VU Meter Plugin?
Folks, you might find the following to be eye-opening: Bob Katz on Peak and VU meters: Contrary to popular belief, the levels on a digital peak meter have (almost) nothing to do with loudness. (...) the VU meter responds more closely to the response of the ear. For loudness judgment, if all you have...

Re: Mixcraft STOCK VU Meter Plugin?
But this is far less a frequent problem in my experience than too hot. I used to see it constantly, but less so anymore. This of course stems from us old-timers who used to record on magnetic tape, where we were constantly combating hiss. And, from my own experience, because a track whose content l...

Re: Mixcraft STOCK VU Meter Plugin?
Cactus-Head, thanks for your work. I am aware of this all. The problems with needle meters are different. Imagine ten of those meters spead over your screen all jumping around gayly in a seemingly non related manner - this will drive you mad. A visual clue reflecting the momentary level information ...

(...) a dynamic EQ with spectrum analyzing built in- for example Pro-Q or Nova. Did you ever look at TB F|X4? I like the look of Nova, but I find it less than intuitive with things that appear and then are grayed out again. It has spectrum and incredible compressor shapes. It looks uncluttered and ...

Re: cd and dvd burning software
You are not mentioning what content you wish to burn. Since you are posting in this forum chances are you are burning audio content . There is a huge difference if you want to copy audio CD´s using plain bitwise copying programs versus a dedictated audio software. Despite common assumption, audio CD...
