I use mine as an effect at the end of a phrase. I only want the last note to drop in pitch; sounds like it's fading away or sliding down the scale. So I just isolate that specific note. I don't need the whole phrase to behave like that.

What I do is split the note in clip view, and select 'Pitch' from the dropdown next to the prefs icon. You can then apply automation with the centre line of the clip.

Also, the clip will have 'Normalized' next to the clip name.
