Thanks! It's funny though, this is probably the one track I was actually trying to go BIG on the percussion...chibear wrote:Nice work! Especially appreciated is the sparing use of percussion. I could just hear where it could have become a real bang-boom fest in someone else's hands. Favorited

The Last Charge (Orchestral)
Here is another trailer track that I have been working on for quite a while. It is for a trailer of a film I am currently working on and is one of my first tries at writing a more standard trailer track. It also features me on the Irish Whistle to give it a more Celtic feel. I'd love to know what yo...

Re: The Heights of Wessex (Orchestral)
Nicely done. However - for my taste - if you use interesting solo instruments, like the tin whistle or the celtic harp in this tune, they deserve to be used more, not only a handful of notes. Could use them to show the motif a bit more, but alltogether the orchestral sound feels nice rounded. Unfor...

The Heights of Wessex (Orchestral)
Here is some orchestral work with a Celtic feel that I did a couple months back. It is for a trailer so it may seem a non-cohesive musically but I hope you guys like it anyway. It features me on the Irish Whistle and I used EW/QL Symphonic Orchestra Silver for the rest. https://soundcloud.com/arpegg...

Thanks. It was written in a medieval, celtic sort of mind.

Orchestral Composition. Saxon theme
Here is a short excerpt of a theme I'm doing. Some of the drums are form Mixcraft's loops.

You know how if you click on a note in the piano roll and then if you create a note it is the same length. Can you make so that the midi channel of the last note I clicked will be the same when I make a new note.

Re: Mixdown with EastWest Symphonic Orchestra
Arpeggio ran 40 tracks on his latest EWQLSO project which sounded great to me. You might want to PM him on the EWQL forums to see if he has any ideas. I don't know how closely he follows these forums. I'm still here. One thought that might work (might). First: Load the project. Then open up another...

I use Alchemy for Sonata, but I you have to use Zampler for the Staccato articulations as they don't work in Alchemy (It goes up a half step every other note).

The Return
Hi, This is one of the first compositions I ever made with Symphonic Orchestra Free. Never got around to finishing it until now. I'm picturing a person returning to somewhere (haven't figured out where maybe a castle) and something goes terribly wrong. Thanks for listening! http://soundcloud.com/arp...

Hi,
You probably did this already, but anyway. Did you select the direct folder in which the file was in? For example C:\VST\EWQl. Instead of: C:\VST Oh and are you looking for play_vst or Symphonic Orchestra

Re: EWQL Promotion
Edit: It appears marcato attack is maximized at a velocity <> 90, so something to get used to. Using lots of mod wheel yields lots of expressivity, so volume = mod wheel, attack style = velocity. BTW <> the 4th or 5th try I came up with a much more convincing Game of Thrones than his example ...
