Re: Recording With Mixer
Matt, I have dealt with alot of live recording using a mixer (I had 16 inputs on mine). But the non-high in mixer (+$1k) will not have the same number output as the inputs. Most mixers only give you a 2-track output or also called the Main out which take all of your input and mixed them to a 2-track...

Re: vocals coming in to low....(HELP)
It just means mean that the incoming audio signal may not be strong enough or the preamps may not be as good. When I was doing alot of vocal recordings, the input gain on my previous focusrite scarlett 18i6 was turned up to about 80 to 90%, but my volume in Mixcraft was at 20 to 30%. For that, my re...

Re: vocals coming in to low....(HELP)
If u what less floor noise and if u r using WaveRT, turn ur input gain or preamp on ur audio interface up to 80% and lower Mixcraft input volume to say 20% or whatever that keep ur recording signal at around -9db and u should be fine for ur focusrite. Try it. U will notice a huge difference comparin...

Re: vocals coming in to low....(HELP)
Hi, I'm no expert. I'm just learning watching alot of groove3.com videos ($99 for one year all-access ending this month. It's a great deal. Tutorials are excellent) in recording, mixing, and mastering. Your end results all depend on how good and clean your audio is recorded, how well they are mixed ...

Re: vocals coming in to low....(HELP)
One more clarification, If you are using Wave RT (look in the preference), turn the gain your for focusrite up to say 90% and lower Mixcraft input volume as required so you won't get into the red or clipping at max volume. Do some tests first. That should get rid of alot of noise floor. If you are u...

Re: vocals coming in to low....(HELP)
Hi, Just turn your focusrite up as high as you can without clipping to minimize the floor noise (also called gain-to-noise ratio). That's what I experienced with my previous audio interface. But be careful that even the award winning preamp you also mentioned previously can have noise problem at 90%...

Re: vocals coming in to low....(HELP)
It's nothing has to do with Mixcraft for you low volume/signal in recording the vocal. The amount of volume/signal feeding into Mixcraft is from your preamp. If you are using an audio interface, then that is controlling your input volume/signal. If you are using the usb, your computer soundcard is c...

Re: Transfer Files from ZOOM R16
Hi, That's what I meant: "Copy Project Files to" (to a folder or zip file) option, not "save to folder" option, just as Eric posted. After you have all you audio files where you like them to be (the files need to be at the same location for Mixcraft to locate them), then you can ...

Re: Transfer Files from ZOOM R16
Hi,
You can drag/drop wav or mp3 files from anywhere on you machine. When you save the project, use save to folder instead of just the save option. Then all you wav or mp3 file will be saved into the same folder as your project.

Re: Lagging and skipping
Hi Greg, I was about to send in the log file, but found out what were wrong with the recording and playback's lagging and skipping. 1. Lagging and skipping during recording: I didn't realize that effects on the main project were still checked. I unchecked all effects on each track, but forgot to unc...

Re: Lagging and skipping
Also,
If you have one or two or maybe three recorded tracks (full length for each from beginning to end of the project) and try to record over it or playback, there's no problem.

Re: Lagging and skipping
Hi Greg, I have the latest driver, OCTA-CAPTURE USB Driver Windows v1.5.1, and also updated the unit to the latest software version, OCTA-CAPTURE System Update Version 1.51. This has been going on well before using this unit. I usually avoid trying to record or add more instrument over what were rec...

Re: How to fix skipping during recording/playback in Mixcraf
One more comment:
If just recording straight (8-track) with no other track playing at the same time, then no problems. The problem is when trying to record more instrument to the recorded track already or playback with alot of tracks (less than 12 tracks, that's max. I have for any project).
