Re: PRO TOOLS LAST!

It's not that hard to use and it's a fine DAW Yes it is and no it's not. Utter crap IMO. It just amazes me that they haven't gone bankrupt. Crap product, laughably high prices, crap support and attitude, the list goes on. But they're somehow still riding that so-called "industry standard" BS to the...

Re: PRO TOOLS LAST!

I can only imagine the full version, then. Too much of a learning curve for me. And I've tried other daws. None of them even come close to Mixcraft as far as ease of use on first try. Maybe Acid, but there are some aspects that Mixcraft beats. It's like someone watched me and my mouse/keyboard choic...

PRO TOOLS LAST!

I just downloaded Pro Tools First for the second (and probably last) time to see if there were any improvements. I've been awkwardly attempting to make music with it without any tutorials. And even when I tried to watch Youtube videos with the DAW open I couldn't get the sound to work online because...

Re: Great free trumpet!

Cool! I can see it's over 1 GB so it must be pretty authentic, but I'm going to see if there are any video demos before I download that huge file. Thanks!

Re: BSOD

Hi, You could go into Device Manager, uninstall the driver, and then allow it to install again. 1. Right-click on Windows start menu. 2. Select Device Manager. 3. Select Sound, Video and Game Controllers. 4. Right-click on the Keyrig 49 and uninstall it. 5. Restart your computer with the keyboard a...

Re: BSOD

Update: I tried a different USB port. Same deal.

I do notice that it only happens after I turn it off. So, maybe, for the time being, I'll just leave it on whenever I use it. And only shut it down at night when I shutdown the PC.

Re: BSOD

I did try a new cable. And it seemed to work at first. But eventually same result. It's not in a hub, but I will try another port.

Re: BSOD

Well, further exploration of M-Audio support reveals this: "Windows 10 Support for M-Audio Products- Many products are compatible with Windows 10 and there are no known issues with any M-Audio items. Below is a list of our current products and their compatibility with Microsoft Windows 10. Note: New...

Re: BSOD

That's worth a try. I'll try contacting support. Thanks. But I'm spoiled by you guys, so don't have high expectations. Haha.

Re: BSOD

Thanks. The troubleshooting ain't worth it. Did you set how many steps there are? Sheesh. And there are no guarantees it will work. It will be easier just to buy the latest keyboard.

Re: BSOD

I did download the last drivers available for the two midi keyboards from M-Audio. As far as audio and graphics, it never occurred to me that updates wouldn't be through windows. I'll try that.

Re: BSOD

OK, here's a screenshot of the most current event. Not seeing a file mentioned, but I followed the QR code and it led me to a Microsoft rabbit hole of a solution. Not sure I want to go down that path. I might bite the bullet and buy new.

Re: BSOD

The last one said "system service exception". I've Googled that but still not clear. I can say that it only happens when I turn on either of the MIDI controllers. Not always right away. sometimes it's a while after using it. But it has me paranoid to use them.

BSOD

Anybody else experiencing the BSOD when using their MIDI controller? I have two older models, both M-audio. One is Keyrig-49 and the other Axiom 25. Both are legacy and done with any new updates. As Windows 10 (or soon to be 11) gets updates, do I approach ever more inexorably the reality that I dre...
