Re: Dumb Question - from someone who should know better
I think your right. Try using a snippet of the song without that intro and see what you get.

Re: Dumb Question - from someone who should know better
Trev, try this out and see what it says. From what I can find Mixcraft reads the file for tempo info and if it’s there it uses that for it’s interpretation. Otherwise, mixcraft does an educated guess just like we would manually.

Re: Dumb Question - from someone who should know better
Appears the song was originally done at a tempo of 111 in the ket of f#. Mp3 ‘s are not very reliable at maintaining constant tempo like a metronome or digital beat. I would just use the mp3 as a guide and set up to record the song at whatever tempo works for your singer.

Jumpin Jack Flash
Rolling Stones,1968, the song was perceived by some as the band's return to their blues roots after the baroque pop and psychedelia heard on their preceding albums Aftermath (1966), Between the Buttons (1967) and especially Their Satanic Majesties Request (1967). My take, Open E tuning as the origin...

Re: Let’s go through the ‘Strat’osphere!
Have to disagree with Tom on the Tornadoes. Telstar, written by Joe Meek, a very somewhat off the wall agent, producer and recording engineer well before his time in recording techniques. It was was played by Norman Hale on keyboards, clavichord I believe. Lead guitarist Alan Caddy played a Hofnar ...

This is a fender strat with the wound 60's pickups which you can't get anymore. The settings on the guitar are bridge pickup, treble all the way up and bass slightly rolled off. It's played through a fender twin reverb, mid treble and mid bass with reverb set around 8 or 9. It's miked with a sm57, s...

Re: Looking for a 60's Organ Sound
Sorry I chimed in late but another freebie organ that sounds good is the VL122, should be able to google it. Also the VB3 that is in Mixcraft does a pretty good emulation. Mark's second link has an extra parenthesis in front of it.

Save and move file
If you have your Mixcraft projects saved to a location on your hard drive, then you copy the entire file location and put it on a different hard drive and run a new copy of Mixcraft, will the new copy of Mixcraft find all the files? Moving the entire location of a project won't loose files and locat...
