Re: Are you unfamiliar with keys and chords?
[ One has to remember to put all the "stuff" down and pick up that guitar and let the music flow from the heart. :D I've been cheating on old 'Windy' lately by taking up the keyboard more and more.. which is why I went looking for that chart in the first place. I can understand that 'alph...

I don't see what chord to go to after a Dom7Sus4th? Geeez, Everybody knows what chord comes after Dom7sus4 chord Mark! :D I don't see what chord to go to after a Dom7Sus4th? Good stuff, but don't try to memorize all 26 combinations in all keys. IE, don't let it overwhelm you. If you und...

Re: Are you unfamiliar with keys and chords?
Here is one sample of the Circle of Fifths. You can search the web for many various looks, but I've found this one to be useful.

Re: Are you unfamiliar with keys and chords?
Awesome chart AH! A good musical theory tip for new guitarists (any musician for that matter) is to begin with the major triad and lower the third one half step to create the minor triad/chord. Lowering both the third and the fifth one half step will create the diminished chord. Also, the Circle of ...

Thanks AG, seems like I've tried that but the bourbon may have gotten the better of me. I'll give it a go when I get back to the "guitar lounge."

Mixcraft 6 to 7 to 8...
As my Dad once taught me "David, there is no such thing as a stupid question...just stupid people who ask questions... now what was it you wanted to ask me?"
Anyway, Is there an easy way to import my MX6 and MX7 tracks/projects into MX8? Seems I'm having some brain fog about it.

Re: STOP DRUG OVERDOSES RAP
Number One: If your efforts can save one from OD then huge kudos to you my friend. Number Two: I'm not a rap apprecianado.... but... I try but can't tell one rap piece from another most of the time. It's probably my fault and lack of listening to the genre. ( The sounds, hand motions, etc., all just...

Re: Discussion: Feedback on music projects
Good discussion topic, thanks for starting it. Just a couple thoughts of my own to throw in the mix. On one hand this is called User Showcase so I can see where some might believe that posting an EP might be fine. I suppose it is but to also think that many viewers want or even have time to listen t...

Re: Looking for feedback
I was listening to a quite nice live acoustic version of an old Pretenders song yesterday that made me think of this thread. It had at least two, maybe three acoustic guitars, one with some pretty obvious chorus etc. Similar to the first effort presented here. It made me think maybe I wasn't clear ...

Re: Looking for feedback
Thank you for all the good advice and direction! I've uploaded the new track on 3-19-17 and reduced the track to some bare bones stuff. If you would give another listen I'd appreciate your feedback. (It's the track without the date attached.) Earlier comments about the chorus effect stumped me a bit...

Re: Looking for feedback
Thanks for all the feedback and tips everyone! I've made some changes from what I understand the posts to mean. I eliminated the drum track which was a Mixcraft 7 "off the shelf" track. If you have a few minutes to review it again I'd appreciate your input and mentoring. Https://SoundCloud...

Re: Looking for feedback
Even with a cover you've got to own it and because it's a cover even more so than the original vocalist. The percussion is a little bit blah. Other than those two things, I believe you just need more vocal practice and to just keep on keepin' on. You have a good voice and the guitar is sounding goo...

Re: Looking for feedback
I also noticed what seemed like sloppy timing, especially at the start, but it seemed to drift closer into time as the song progressed I think? Voice is good, but the vocal track seemed a little dry to me. And there was something "busy" about the whole thing despite being a fairly simple ...

Re: Looking for feedback
Nice voice! Pop it in the center, please! Are you direct recording the bass or what is that mud all about? So much noise there and on the "drums", which sound pretty awful and not in sync? But I like the guitar tones. Very pretty overall. Wouldn't mind hearing this with a clean bass track...

Re: Proggy Atmospheric Metal
Very cool! I enjoyed the mix of electronic and guitar work. Electronic doesn't Typically get my attention but your mix was intriguing to my ears. I appreciated your artistic blend. I'm old school so i suppose that's why i half expected to hear a bit of Queensryche vocals somewhere . :D good on ya du...
