Re: Little song, big learning experience....

Hi Steve, Thanks for the encouragement! And a super thank you for the snarky puppy link-- I wasn't familiar with them, but I certainly am now. Have been delving further into their music-- WOW! Simply the best stuff I've heard in ages. All individually talented, put them together with some tasteful s...

Re: And She's Gone

Hi Mark--

Good song! Steeped in the soul/r&b tradition. I especially like the break at around 3:50, with nice interplay between guitar and horns.. I look forward to hearing, and seeing, the final version. 8) Rick.

Re: Best I can

Hello,
Beautiful song-- well done. I agree with Nicky, the title line "hook" stuck with me all day. It's a sentiment I can easily relate to. Thanks, Rick.

Howdy Tom,

Many thanks for the kind reply and encouragement. I had fun putting it together and learned much. I think next time around, the process will be a little easier! I keep learning. 8) Rick.

Little song, big learning experience....

Hello to all, I'm still a newbie at mixing, and with this tune, I got in way over my head early, being impatient. Added effects, and panned tracks before I should have. The cumulative volume started creeping up, and the whole thing sounded like mud... Then I saw a Mixcraft post on April 19, (origina...

Re: After the Curtain

Hi,

I enjoyed this piece. I like the subtle shifts in and out of minor key. Somehow, parts of it put me in the mind of one of my favorite composers, Ralph Vaughan Williams. The photo fits it nicely, too. :) Nice work. Thank you. Rick.

Hello all, This has been an incredibly educational thread for me...many thanks to EVERYONE who took part! I'm currently working on a short "orchestral" piece, and in typical impatient fashion, got in way over my head too early in the process. Started adding reverb, and panning instr...

Hey NickyB.-- Member since 2012!? Where the heck have you been? This is a great tune, well-played and beautifully produced! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the vocals are fine-- you have a good and very interesting voice. I'll be looking forward to more... :D Rick. By the way, with all the talented wom...

Re: Hopefully a simple question.....

Howdy all, Many thanks for your kind responses. Rolling Estonian, you maybe have a different type of sound card, since I still can only access MX or streamed/downloaded music one at a time.. Tom, I think you've nailed it with MX needing exclusive use of my soundcard, but I can work around it. I'm su...

Re: Hopefully a simple question.....

Hello Rolling Estonian, I still can't open my music service, (currently Apple Music, where I have tons of downloaded songs), and access my piano when I simultaneously open Mixcraft. Seems it has to be one or the other. I'm not using an audio interface. I've gone into MX preferences and tried tweakin...

Re: Hopefully a simple question.....

Hi Mark-- thanks for your response. That definitely solves the problem of playing along with mp3 or wav. files-- I can just drag them from desktop to Mixcraft project. What about playing along with streaming radio on the computer, (or an online music service)? I hope this is as simple to solve as pl...
