Hello all, This has been an incredibly educational thread for me...many thanks to EVERYONE who took part! I'm currently working on a short "orchestral" piece, and in typical impatient fashion, got in way over my head too early in the process. Started adding reverb, and panning instrument trac...

Re: Strange Canadian band.....

Hi Mark,
Glad you enjoyed it. I just checked out their youtube video for the song "The Bird That Follows Me", which was taped during recording sessions-- fun perspective. Rick.

Strange Canadian band.....

Hello all, Maybe you've already heard of these folks. A friend sent me this link-- I find them oddly fascinating, and have to admire their originality and sincerity. I've had this tune stuck in my head all day. I think this would be an interesting bunch to spend an evening with. 8) Another interesti...

Hey NickyB.-- Member since 2012!? Where the heck have you been? This is a great tune, well-played and beautifully produced! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the vocals are fine-- you have a good and very interesting voice. I'll be looking forward to more... :D Rick. By the way, with all the talented wom...

Re: Hopefully a simple question.....

Howdy all, Many thanks for your kind responses. Rolling Estonian, you maybe have a different type of sound card, since I still can only access MX or streamed/downloaded music one at a time.. Tom, I think you've nailed it with MX needing exclusive use of my soundcard, but I can work around it. I'm su...

Re: Hopefully a simple question.....

Hello Rolling Estonian, I still can't open my music service, (currently Apple Music, where I have tons of downloaded songs), and access my piano when I simultaneously open Mixcraft. Seems it has to be one or the other. I'm not using an audio interface. I've gone into MX preferences and tried tweakin...

Re: Hopefully a simple question.....

Hi Mark-- thanks for your response. That definitely solves the problem of playing along with mp3 or wav. files-- I can just drag them from desktop to Mixcraft project. What about playing along with streaming radio on the computer, (or an online music service)? I hope this is as simple to solve as pl...

Hopefully a simple question.....

Hi folks, When I want to practice piano, I simply open up a Mixcraft project, select a piano sound, and play away. I tried opening a wav. file from my desktop to play along with, but the file won't play when Mixcraft is open. Is there an easy way around this? Many thanks, Rick. (I'm using MX6 and an...

Re: Make It With You (Instrumental)

Howdy, Tom! It was good to hear this tune again, with some bittersweet memories attached. Something about an ex-girlfriend. I thought she was the one for a couple of years... ah, I can still picture her-- endless legs, fragrant and dew-dropped just out of the shower....ahem. Well, you get the pictur...

Re: Pluto [OC]

Space indeed! Lots of layers of nice electronica going on here! I like the steady buildup, and the slow fade at the end. The percussion track bothered me a little at the beginning until I got used to it, but I ended up really enjoying it.. Thanks! Rick.

Re: Funhouse King Final w/Video

Howdy Mark!

Love this tune! Nothing sad about this one-- great lyrics, and fun video. Has a nice old "Mellencamp" small-town feeling to it! Nice job with the vocals and instrumentals. Keep it up. 8) Rick.

Re: Some Constructive Criticism Much Appreciated! :D

Hi Jeremy,

I agree with Ahornsby-- both these mixes sound good to me, with the 2nd having a much fuller overall sound. Very good instrumental mix, and you have a good voice! Maybe some vocal harmonies in places would sound great. Nice work :D Rick.
