I have an Akai LPD-8, smaller unit with 8 pads and 8 knobs. I'm just a hobbyist so the pads are great to use for initial drum ideas on EZD2 and I use the extra 8 knobs for vst or whatever else I may need a knob for. I've had no issues with setup or use, nice little unit.

Not trying to be smart alecky but did you download the drivers? Also need to go into windows sound preferences and make sure everything matches with the unit ie 24bit 44.100Hz

I'd like to hear others input as well, looks like a really nice unit but wondering what you can do with the display and a lot of those buttons on the right side. Don't know if Mackie with Mixcraft will let those be of use. Would feel guilty having so many buttons and not be able to use them.

What specs is your pc? Seems like if it's okay with one track and not two you may not have a powerful enough system to handle 2 tracks simultaneously.

Think of it as an external sound card that you can plug stuff into and it'll put it into digital so you can use it in MC. Have you gone into windows sound settings to make the id14 the default device and set the bit and sample rate for playback and record in Sound Control Panel?
