Are you using a particular vst in your project?
In my case, using a "free" vst, VSCO2 Orchestra, Mixcraft crashes when trying to open the saved project.

When using an instrument soundfont in the Sforzando vst and playing certain notes, it makes cracking noises. Switch to the TX16Wx vst, and it only makes sound when you press the piano keyboard, but not when you play a midi track. Downloaded the Phenome vst, and also no sound when playing a midi trac...

Osc 3 its not working, problem, no sound.
Check to the left of the range knob in the oscillator 3 section for the LFO / VCO switch (Control section). Set it to VCO.
