Strumming Guitar VST

Hi Crafty Mixers. Well my Acoustic(a!) - see what I did there! - guitar skills really are not very good at all. But my music theory, compositional abilities, and keyboard skills seem to get me by. Has anybody used any of the strumming guitar VSTs out there with Mixcraft to, like me, complement their...

Re: Frustrating latency

Hey Mixcraftians - switching to 32 bit revealed the ASIO drivers. Now virtually no lag. Simple as.....

Now I'll just have to get used to the sound degradation due to the lower fidelity etc, etc, etc, etc........only joking.

Thanks.

Re: Frustrating latency

Thanks again everyone.

I'm on Win 7 so I'll try the 32 bit approach. I'll shred through that thread too.

Re: Frustrating latency

Ok... Went to Creative Labs sight and downloaded the latest drivers from 15/9/11. " The Emu Audio Drivers on this system are up to date. No update is required. Set up will exit" Is the message I got. Again, ASIO is not an option in the Sound Device dialog. Also - am I getting confused here: I though...

Re: Frustrating latency

Thanks Greg - I'll try that. But, cant help thinking - this not a multi rack synth, huge tracts of VSTs, loads of connections set-up. You mentioning lowering the latency. I am really thinking there shouldn't be any at all. Mixcraft being a fully featured DAW etc. Is this experienced by anyone else? ...

Re: Frustrating latency

ASIO not available.

CoreRT is. Changed to that setting - still get the "double strike" effect. The data coming through USB is delayed behind the audio being recorded straight from the QSR.

Editing Multiple MIDI Parts at the same time

Just wondered if the hopefully, self explanatory title to the post is now a feature in 8. I used to be able to do this in the Atari version of Cubase 20 years ago and mentioned it in feedback awhile ago for potential features in future Mixcraft versions. In operation (in other DAWs - sorry!) this ty...

Re: Frustrating latency

So... Under Prefernces we have... Driver = Wave Default Recording Device = Microphone (2 USB Audio CODEC Playback Device = (E-MU E-DSP) Wave Options are 44100, Buffers 4, BIt 24, Buffer Size 4096 - These obviously only affect Audio recording though and we are dealing with delay via the USB through t...

Re: Frustrating latency

Thanks Bill - Yep, tried taking the hub out of the equation. No difference.

I'll try the straight MIDI route too, thanks.

Re: Frustrating latency

Hi Everyone. Thanks for the attention. Toton5 - I'll check the preference you mention. But for now.... Bear in mind - Even if I do not record Audio at all and just record the VI in mixcraft its behind. If all I do is just hit a note on the keyboard there is a delay till the sound of the selected/arm...

Re: Frustrating latency

Nothings changed. Been living with the prob for ages just haven't figured out a solution. Not a recent issue - just ongoing and unfixed. Been on 7 Pro Studio since it came out. Could it be a Windows setting perhaps? Dunno. I'm lost. It makes recording straight midi/vitual instrument tracks pointless...

Frustrating latency

Yep this isn't the first rodeo for this topic. Sorry. I have a VERY simple set-up. Novation keyboard Usb connected to my PC. Windows 7. MIDI from novation to rack Alesis QSR. Audio from this goes into my crappy behringer mixer and from there the into my sound card. I typically record a virtual instr...

Re: Edit or even view 2 tracks at once

Greg. Thanks for the response. Just to be sure, I wasn't talking about audio clips but parts. MIDI note info. This is so for instance you select (shift click?) typically - user digression - adjacent parts, say drum and bass to see how they match up, edit etc. it saves so much time going in and out o...
