Re: What is this "C" folder?

Thanks, but there isn't anything else to really show or describe. An ordinary looking folder simply called "C." Of course now that I've made a post about it, it won't do it again, lol. Probably operator error, though I can't imagine how. I never said "save files on a desktop folder called C" or simi...

Re: Web site suggestion

Right idea, something like that. But that doesn't include the Home Studio version, which if added would logically mean including stuff like how many tracks you're allowed, are you allowed send tracks, etc.

How many tracks are absolutely necessary? As many as it takes.

Hey ask a silly question - :)

Really there's no pat answer of course. It varies with the specifics. I'm solo, so 1 or 2 isn't uncommon and rarely more than 5 or 6 (excluding sends).

Re: Country music

Patsy Cline. For modern, Trisha Yearwood comes to mind, though none are remotely in the same ballpark as Cline.

When did Quincy Jones lose his alleged mind

https://www.theguardian.com/music/2018/ ... -the-world The words to describe this guy that I used to respect would probably get me kicked off of this site. Suffice it to say he made a complete ass of himself. Not only obnoxious as hell but laughably clueless. He's like the music version of Howard Co...

Re: Microphone Survey

Sennheiser 835. Easily beats the over-hyped (but still good) SM58 IMO. No more boxiness :)

Currently shopping for an LDC and ribbon.

Re: Microhpone Upgrade

I have no personal experience with the sE, but have heard good things about the product line. But I also am not sure what you would expect to gain from this. I wouldn't expect a great deal of difference between it and the Rode for your described usage. I would, and for reasons stated: the nt1a is n...

I'll start with Ample Guitar. It's respectable, not amazing. Well worth the price. :)

Re: MixCraft is now my primary DAW

I am currently DAW shopping and testing out (as possible...sadly some DAWs don't offer a trial version), and Mixcraft is on the short list for sure.

Web site suggestion

Have a page somewhere that show in a table a side-by-side comparison of the three versions and what each offers (or doesn't). That would be very helpful in deciding which to go with...currently I'm in hunt and peck mode...

Stupid newbie question: Mixcraft "instruments"

Not sure I'm getting how to best use these (the voices that come up when you click on the little piano on a track). Are these considered "soft syth" type things, and if so, how to I use them? "Musical typing" is not going to fly, I want to play my real synth w/these sounds if possible........but I s...
