32 vs. 64 Bit Plugin Reference

Hi, Unlike most people, I have and use both 32 and 64 bit MC8 on the same machine. (don't ask). As a result, I started having issues with plugins. What I noticed after reconfiguring the plugin folders for 32 bit MC is that 64 bit MC uses the same folders. This makes it hard for each version to use t...

Re: 64 bit MC8 ASIO Audio Issue?

I may never know. Overloud had released it's Sonar plugins from exclusive use to global use when Gibson shut Sonar down. Now that BandLab resurrected it they've regained exclusive use of Overloud plugins with the current update. So to that end the problem is solved. No more BREVERB! :x

Re: 64 bit MC8 ASIO Audio Issue?

I'll get back with you on that. A reminder, tho, the trio works fine in 32 bit MC8. I have both 32 & 64 bit installed on a 64 bit laptop and 32 bit seems to work a little better for some reason.

Re: 64 bit MC8 ASIO Audio Issue?

Updated to 418 today. @Greg: I added BREVERB from Cakewalk. Alone it seems to work fine but with iZotope Mastering Essentials and Acoustica 31 Band EQ on the track it causes these little pops. I also found I accidentally set the plugin manager to scan 32 bit folders. Reset to scan 64 bit folders and...

Re: 64 bit MC8 ASIO Audio Issue?

Thanks for the replies. I'll try reinstalling the drivers but I wonder because 32 bit MC and my other DAWS work fine with them. It's only 64 bit MC having the issue.

64 bit MC8 ASIO Audio Issue? (No)

Same project. Same settings. Same everything. For about a week or so I'm getting occasional audio pops & clicks like when listening to a vinyl record in 64 bit MC8 using ASIO. In 64 bit MC8 using WDM it sounds perfectly clear. In 32 bit MC8 using ASIO & WDM it sounds perfectly clear. I've tried adju...

Re: MC8 CRASHES WHEN...

They all crashed it until I installed the latest MC8 update & rebooted the computer. Now only the bad project crashes it. So I deleted it so it can't do that anymore. :) Older versions of the project (I save sequential copies after major changes) now open just fine and Pianissimo opens while playing...

Re: MC8 CRASHES WHEN...

Reopened project and it loaded fine. Clicked the keys button to open Pianissimo and it crashed again, this time NOT playing.

Reopened project again but project would not load this time.

Corrupt project?

[FIXED] MC8 CRASHES WHEN...

I try to open Pianissimo's UI while song is playing. Could be audio interface related as the music stops with a loud GLRRRRRRR! and MC8 POOFing off the screen. Log file shows nothing unordinary and there's no crash dump file. Whenever I open any plugin UI while song is playing I get a momentary GLRR...

Re: String Instruments Hi Freq Artifact

I donno. Maybe mine sounds different because I put 2 EQs with 3.2K pumped all the way up to make the nuance more audible.

A better method may be to also set the rest of the freqs all the way down to really isolate the sound.

At least for me, mystery solved.

Re: String Instruments Hi Freq Artifact

Just a thought: it is very possible that there is nothing at all “wrong” with the sample per se. it could be a harmonic that is being created simply by the bow on the strings... Could be. Dont know what's making it, just know it's not pleasent to hear and would remove it from the sample if I could....

Re: String Instruments Hi Freq Artifact

Thanks for that Mark. I only brought this up because it was so obvious to me I thought others might be hearing it too. Guess I'm more sensitive to certain freqs (even with hearing loss) than most. Could be the guys making the samples don't even hear it. The piece I 1st herd it on was a piano/strings...
