Re: Skin

I don't think anyone meant any harm here. Though GUI editing isn't the most user friendly, the potential to edit and change at will is there. Everything is "exposed" to the user to manipulate as he chooses. And some have. "mixskin.ini" entries contain graphic file names and RGB colors that ca...

Re: Searching For The Perfect Piano

In MC8 you can record the MIDI notes into the track as you play or manually enter each note in the Piano Roll. You can arm an audio track and simultaneously record the audio as well. You can also open Pianissimo and Kontakt standalones, load your desired presets (VSCO2, etc.), and trigger them both ...

Re: Searching For The Perfect Piano

Almost. I use one track for each instrument. Then copy or duplicate the midi notes so they are the same on each track. Do this by Alt-dragging the MIDI clip in track 1 to track 2 or by double clicking the MIDI clip, Copy, then Paste to track 2. Add whatever effects you want to each track or Send tra...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Yes, and I do, but... then the Master Track and main meter in the transport bar are DOA for the output not selected in Preferences, which only allows for one output. :(

In some other DAWs a "Master track" is created for each of your interface's outputs.

Re: Searching For The Perfect Piano

Hi Thomas, Layering instruments is simply having 2 instruments playing off the same MIDI track. In MC8 I copy the Pianissimo MIDI track and reassign it to the VSCO2 Piano. Each piano can have it's own reverb/effect or you can load the reverb onto a Send track and route the pianos to it dialing as mu...

Searching For The Perfect Piano

Pianissimo on it's own sounds great. But when layered with VSCO2 Piano it really brings it up a notch. "http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=VSCO2_Piano&id=2729" "https://github.com/sgossner/VSCO-2-CE/tree/SFZ" Usually layered piano vst's compete more than compliment but these 2 seem to be ma...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Removable DOCK tabs. Grab tab and drag it out to form it's own expandable window.

This so you can have a MIXER view AND a PIANO ROLL view (or all 4) at the same time... 8)

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

+1. My interface has several outputs. It would be great to have a MASTER channel for each of them.

Lock MIDI Controllers to notes so when moving notes the controllers move with them.

Yes, I've been waiting for this kind of thing to be included for years
Sounds cool and very useful. Add it to the right-click & dropdown menus?

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Make Piano Roll Controller editing similar to note editing. 1. Select several notes 2. Grab the note Velocity Controllers that are highlighted and move them up or down. Result= All velocity values are raised or lowered together while maintaining their differences. Currently, only one Velocity Contro...

Good question. None of the info nor the comparison page say anything about editing features.

Re: Question regarding delay decay at the end of a track

Mixdown only processes the MIDI data and doesn't know about the effects tails. Are you freezing the MIDI or recording it to audio before exporting it? That usually works.
