You know, I have the Behringer Xenyth 1204 FX and it's a great mixer with excellent effects but I wouldn't say it's an ideal way to record with the computer. An audio interface will do the work of your computer's soundcard plus giving you the options of Asio, Wave RT, Higher Bit Rate etc... That's w...

Hey! I'm from Airdrie. Unfortunately, it will cost you twice as much. What sells for $100 US or Canadian is usually about one hundred Pounds Sterling. Search online for "Audio Interfaces" and read the reviews. That way at least you have a pretty good handle on things when you get to the mainland. Ch...

Probably a safer bet.
According to 2 reviews I read the M Audio USB mic doesn't work with Pro Tools. Kind of strange when you consider that M Audio promotes Pro Tools software.
You know, you can buy USB mics for about $30 & run a headset from your tower.

I recently purchased a bunch of add-ons that came with Cubase & Wavelab as well as some other software. Really lucked out. Gentleman was switching his studio to Mac and sold me everything. Can't use some of them when I'm in Vista. Wish I could.

Pop down to your local music shop and see what's on the shelf.
Get the right store clerk and you should come home with a decent audio interface. Something with 2 inputs, phantom power & as many bells and whistles as you can get.
Something between $150 - $250 should set you up nicely.

Is it this one http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/SessionMusicProducer-main.html ? No. I haven't tried that one but based on experience with Mixcraft & M Audio products, I'd be extremely surprised if Mixcraft didn't recognize it. I have used a USB mic, a couple of different M Audio interfaces, Ke...

Sounds like you're missing a few basic steps. You have to set up your recording device and arm the tracks. Click on "File", "Preferences" then "Sound Device". Once in there, you will find your device. Don't know what you are using so you'll have to figure that part out for now. Now come out of there...

I would go with Accordion 2. Duplicate the track and drop the second track by one full octave.
Now blend both tracks until you have the sound you desire.

Works just fine with Vista but Vista uses more power.
You'll get Wave Rt but will lose out on a lot of add-ons such as VSTs etc..

He's talking about Thermal Disc Labeling. http://www.runtechmedia.com/product.asp?sku=uprint&a=
Not a bad alternative but I think you're pretty restricted as to how much content you can put on the disc.

Richard: Your drive is probably junk. I own one which doesn't work and it is a replacement for one which didn't work. Try performing some other tasks with the writer. You'll probably find that it is not performing as it should. It will stop working altogether eventually. Read the reviews on it and y...

A decent memory stick or external hard drive will do the job. Have a look in "File, Preferences" to see where your files are being stored. Copy all of them to your device and take them to the other computer. It's a good idea to drop them in there if you have the room. Kind of like having a back up i...

I've been having a bugger of a time with this.
Any way you could mention "Track Markers" in the set up?

The Mixcraft Live site is really well done. Like the Acoustica products it's extremely user friendly, self explanatory and a snap to use. I'm working my way through the various artists with whom I have come into contact and have put my first Mixcraft album on there for reviews. Unlike some people ar...

Mixcraft is still looking for your files where it left them or at least where your default setting says they are. There are a couple of things you can do to straighten this out though. You could change your default setting. You could move your files to where your default is set or.... Open your hard...
