USB 1.1 is slower than USB 2.0, but it still has enough bandwidth to easily support high fidelity analog sound. I wouldn't let the USB version be your deciding factor. Actually, the monitor send is at the same impedance level (balanced/unbalanced, high/low, etc.) as the main or tape out feeds. I'm t...

Good point. I take that as a given, but you are correct. BTW- Do you have any experience running Mixcraft on lighter hardware than a PIII 700 that is stated as minimum hardware? You've got me thinking about my old laptop, but it is an old AMD K6-2 400 with 192 MB, so I am doubtful. But, I would only...

I now know not to mess with any software that tries to get by on the cheap by guiding users to a forum for instructions rather than printing plain words on a web site, etc. I never needed to look, but now that I did, I'm not sure how much more obvious Acoustica can make it. Right on the main Mixcra...

The "Tape Out" on the mixer will work fine with any line-in on a sound card, but EL34 is correct, you can't use the microphone input on the laptop with any output that mixer has. You will need an external sound card if you insist on using that laptop. (External USB sound cards sometimes have latency...

Hey Eric, long time- I may not be understanding this correctly, but I think he is right clicking and playing only track two for playback, not the whole mix. He may have recorded his voice, but not yet mixed it and is just listening to track two on playback. Rockbeast - What happens when you click ju...

Mixcraft 3.0
Just a thought I keep having- I (at this point) have no need for multi-track recording. I enjoy the ease and simplicity of the the current Mixcraft and the single track recording it offers. I have tried other software in the past that offered multi-track recording and it seemed to complicate things ...

I don't have what I would consider a "real" keyboard either, but it is amazing how good an inexpensive Casio sounds. If you want to give a listen here- http://www.nieting.org/music/index.htm All of the drum lines were done with an inexpensive Casio CTK-600 series. I see them on Ebay for less than $1...

My 2 cents- My keyboards have midi, but I don't use their midi function. I record everything out of them in analog into Mixcraft. I'm not sure why you want to use the midi sounds as they are so artificial sounding and limiting. I suppose if that kind of music is your genre, then midi has a use. Are ...
