Re: Old Farts Club

I agree with Mark... but we need to upgrade our roster with age updates. That thread that Mark posted showed my at 62. That is a thing of the past
OFC members... Please update

Pierre: 65

Or should we start a new thread just for OFC member age updates?

Re: Old Farts Club

we will have to see what the nominating committee has to say.. You gained points for the Chevelle even though it wasn't an SS 396 but you lost a bunch for not saving that reel to reel

Old Farts Club

Hey gang... Looking at that thread about how things used to be reminded me.. We haven't had a meeting of the Mixcraft Old Farts Club in ages. I am not sure, but I think we were on Mixcraft 4 when we started it. Maybe we should have an outing and bring guests... Trev can be my guest or Clyd...

Re: unsupported CODEC AGAIN!!!!

Pierre, I hear ya. I would consider looking into a file conversion approach as an alternative to the codec packs. I got downright annoyed at the fishy process that search opened me up to. Everywhere I tried I found adware and worse. REALLY annoying! I got the AVS set of conversion tools... one of t...

unsupported CODEC AGAIN!!!!

I've read all the posts here about unsupported CODECs and how to fix that. I have downloaded all the different recommended CODEC packs and I still can load a .mpg file that plays fine in media player...

Any ideas?
THanks

Re: A Basic Question about Hooking up a Synth

Right now I am leaning toward the MX61, and I don't think it has the A/D input, the way the MoXF does. Tiger WOW... There really is an Moxf Tiasdad... How ya been Gary? We haven't heard from you in a while. So Tiger... here is the link to the MX61 owner's manual http://download.yamaha.com/search/pr...

Re: A Basic Question about Hooking up a Synth

Hi Tiger If you look back at my original post in this thread, I mentioned that I had a Yamaha Motif Rack. It had SPDIF output. That is the reason I ended up with the 6i6. But for what you want to do, the 2i2 might not be enough. It won't have the inputs you want. Also if you have any other MIDI devi...

Re: A Basic Question about Hooking up a Synth

Thanks, a great tip. No problem I didn't realize that the USB sent anything other than the Midi information. So, does the Moxf show up as a choice in Mixcraft under both the Audio and the Virtual Instrument tracks, all from the USB cable? It will, but only if you set your audio in and out devices t...

Re: A Basic Question about Hooking up a Synth

I don't know much about that specific keyboard, but aren't those Yamaha sound banks also known for their grand piano emulations in particular? I think, if it applies to this unit- I have read frequent praises along the lines of "the sound bank is good", but the piano sounds are often referred to as...

Re: A Basic Question about Hooking up a Synth

OK... My turn 8) You started this whole thread talking about MIDI keyboards etc. Don't make the same mistake I made a year ago. I insisted on having an 88 key keyboard so I jumped on this M-Audio Keystation 88 keyboard at Guitar Center for $200 so I could use it to feed MIDI to my Yamaha rack synth....
