If you mean the bit depth display, I'd have to agree.
More cons than pros arent there?
Little detail, but it has created a lot of confusion and wasted a lot of time...

Ignore it.
Known anomaly in reporting from the interface, which is " fixed" at 24.

Re: Tempo change on imported .wav file
Yeah, like Nathan I wasn't at my computer. Also tired and bleary eyed.
I think the first thing to try, as Nathan suggests, making sure time stretch rate is set to 100% etc. as shown:

Re: Tempo change on imported .wav file
I have never had such problems, but it seems some people have some beat-matching or similar settings on that cause these kinds of problems.
Its likely a simple setting issue. I just cant tell you which, based on your info.

Re: Comparing automation curves between Mixcraft 8 and 9
Mixcraft is backwards compatable, in that it will open old projects from previous versions. One area of possible problems is with plug-ins. You would of course need to have any previously used plug-ins available for the new version to load. Also there is the issue of 64 bit vs. 32 bit. 64 bit has a ...

Re: Comparing automation curves between Mixcraft 8 and 9
Well, every user is different, and has different user patterns and needs. But first off- as far as upgrading to PS, I have often said that Piannisimo alone is worth the price of that. And even though Melodyne essentials is the bare bones basic version of Celemonys software, it is excellent for using...

Re: Comparing automation curves between Mixcraft 8 and 9
Oh yeah. I still find it simple and intuitive. The added features arent "in the way" if thats the question. And I use automation heavily in mixing.
And there are other far better reasons to migrate from 8 to 9 if thats part of the question.

Re: A couple of questions
I am not sure about some aspects of the question. I believe a plug in is loaded into RAM. And even inactive it is occupying some memory there. That is probably not a big thing for most, but if your system was marginal in that area, you might find some limitations. Processing resources, probably mini...

Re: Comparing automation curves between Mixcraft 8 and 9
As far as "ease of use" goes, no problem whatsoever. As far as practical utility goes, I'd say its very easy to simply ignore for many real world uses in what I consider "common" automation application. There are times where in previous versions I might apply multiple points to tweak an automation, ...

OK, one thing at a time, did you re-install, enabling the classic plug ins and re-try the old projects?

Re: Acoustica vsts
Are the missing plug-ins the "classic" bundle? If so, you need to select "install classic plug-ins" when prompted by the Mixcraft9 installer. The default setting doesnt install them. The Melodyne issue may be that you are using the wrong installer and installing the "recording studio" version instea...

Re: Any Great Forums Out There for Home Studio Geeks?
Theres tons of great resources for tutorials on all levels. And there are many links here in the "Tips and Tricks" thread area to help find some. But my interpretation of "forum" is discussion. And while good discussion forums do exist, the better ones generally involve paid subscription member grou...

Re: Tips/plugins for midi sound quality? Orchestra
I have this one - mainly because it was free :D I have also previously downloaded the Spitfire player and some libraries, but have yet to install and try it out. It looks like a simple interface with advanced options. And they offer a large number of free and inexpensive sample packs (they call the...

Re: Bit Depth Confusion??
No. If you choose to dither, it should only be done once- so that would best be done when you render your 24 bit file to its final format. And btw, this is all just technical audio engineering theory, not personal opinion. If asked my opinion, I would say that dithering is about the last, teeniest, ...
