Re: Animal & nature sound effect request
OK, Apology, in retrospect that sounds far more snarky than intended. I am in fact here trying to help you. The simple facts are: There are tons and tons (and tons) of plug-ins, virtual instruments, Samples and loops available to use in virtually any DAW you might care to use. Creating yet another, ...

The problem may be your gear or configuration.
Lots of people using it with no problems.

Re: Animal & nature sound effect request
FWIW, I just did a quick Google search for "synths for making animal sounds"
Lots of stuff to study.
Two synths mentioned for examples: "fauna" and "Synthasoarus"
I am sure there are many other options.

Re: Animal & nature sound effect request
Those arent "effects" they are patches or presets for a virtual synth included in Samplitude. The specific synth in your example being called DN-e1. Since the synth is possibly proprietary to Magix Samplitude, it may or may not be useable in other daw's so your other options might be "rewire" (if ap...

Re: Animal & nature sound effect request
Yes, and as @jwarv points out, if you have sample libraries you like from other sources, you can nearly always use them in Mixcraft too.
In any case, there's millions of samples available. Unusual interests may take a little extra searching, but yeah- tons.

Effects? I assume you mean samples? Sounds.

Re: EQ - Question
(crossed posts with @Dude705)
You could automate the eq settings to do what you describe, but it may be both easier and a better solution in most cases to use dynamic eq, so that the frequencies are only reduced when they go over a specified threshold.
And yes, Nova will do that.

Re: 1950s Rock N Roll Sun Studios sound tips?
I'd agree with Trevor there. And find it an interesting project. Its been a long time since I listened to those old recordings, so the first thing I would do is reference some to refresh my memory. It would be interesting to play some originals (not "re-mastered") through a spectrum analyser and com...
