Re: Electronic Music (Original)

hi Dave I've had a few listens to this, and, most importantly... I like it. Seriously do. I think that's the hard thing composing, writing music, it can be technically amazing, but it needs that hook, that listenability. I like the interaction between the guitar phrases, drum track, but my favourite...

Re: Biting the Windows 10 bullet

Anniversary update successful yesterday for me, took about 15mins.
Windows 10 with a SSD is really lovely stuff.
Well, to be honest, I say this as someone who also uses Windows 8 at work - that's a right old mess.

Re: This Way Up

A very pretty song, the arrangement supports without overwhelming the vocal, very nice. I'll never be brave enough for self-video, so kudos all around! Thanks so much! My kind of thing is to mix quite stereo right from the start, which is naughty I know (against every rule book), and orchestrate mo...

Re: Win 10 Anniversary update

Unfortunately you can't do anything about deleting Cortana, Edge or other MS built in products. You can disable Cortana and make Firefox your default browser for all applications, that's what I did and have had no issues. M Same Edge isn't much use without a full complement of extensions like eg Fi...

Well, back to it, no rest for the wicked. Back to cooking dinner, and guitar practice, all the songs I've written over the years won't record themselves lol
Thanks!

Re: This Way Up

There are loads of clicks and other noises, so I suppose this isn´t an issue for everyone, perhaps just for me! So, don´t mind my nitpicking, it´s just that I have fought the battle of tounge clicks for many years, and are a little sensetive to them! You're right though. And I listened to those Nic...

Re: Nearly had a big BOO BOO!!Hi, I Need a suggestion for SYSTEM BACKUP

Both used the recovery and no problems. Use usb hard drive for backups and make sure to make a recovery Disc In case of not rebooting. :D No need to pay for System backup programs. I have to agree with this. System backup programs hark back to the old school. If you located your VSTs, all song data...

Re: This Way Up

A very well done job, anyway![/quote] I must say I never saw anyone work so hard and learn so much on their own, in such a short time! I seriously feared she was going to "flame out" and "crash and burn". Most people would have given up 100 times over Ha! I must confess to getting a little obsessed ...

Re: Playback issue

Some wise guy at work showed me the windows event log, can show up write errors, block errors etc, found it useful when I had a dodgy hard disk. Just sayin'.

Hmmm it does look interesting, thanks for sharing!
I personally have always relied on real double-tracking a little too easily, so will definitely check this out :-)

How did you create the guitar sounds? With Mixcraft? Looks like you had fun!

You have a good mix there with the harmony guitars, it's really quite a catchy hook that's still in my head!
Thanks for sharing!

Re: This Way Up

Really enjoyed this song. Orchestrated very well and nicely mixed and recorded. I might have been tempted to put a slight bit of echo on the vocals, just to lend a touch of nostalgia to the overall atmosphere of the song. Well done! :D Thanks!! Thanks for your kind words and comments, means a lot! ...

This Way Up

Hi folks Here's a new song from me, it's called This Way Up, and comes complete with a cheesy YouTube video here . (click 720p or 1080p) All critique massively welcome!!! I could talk long (for England) about the low-D bassline (will never record a song in D again!), the troubles with 96k, trying to...
