Re: Building a music computer

Yes, a PC, because it has these options. A laptop is nice to take along, but has more disadvantages.

Re: Building a music computer

I got an answer from some other page, telling me that the external audio interface is basically replacing the soundcard in the computer. Not sure if I understand this correctly - an audiointerface is taking over the functions else the soundcard would have? So if I plan to buy an external audio inter...

Building a music computer

Hello. I have been studying for a few years abroad; aside from some small instruments I couldn’t take along my music tools, so that’s what I missed most. In a few weeks I am returning home, and the first thing I will do is upgrading Mixcraft to the then newest version. Before I left, my computer was...

Re: RIP James Horner, Gunther Schuller

I'm sad all day. James Horner was the one who started my interest in classical composed scores even before I was interested in classical music itself. That was about 26 years ago, and til today there is almost not a day I'm not thinking of one of his compositions at last. I listened to his music so ...

Re: Big Band Jazz

Wow, great! Which samples do you use for the horns?

A Big Band - swing track is something I really need to try too, but still other things first on my to-do list :-)

Ha ha, thanks. I was worried whether many people share this humor. I showed it a Chinese friend recently and she said: I don't get it - what is this film about? Cultural humor differences, I guess 8)

Short film soundtrack composed and recorded with Mixcraft

“Endlosschleife” is a student’s short film directed by Matthias Herrmann in 2006. My little brother was working as cinematographer and cutter of the project. The original movie tells its story without words or music. This version is my 1st attempt in composing a soundtrack. It may also serve to illu...

Re: The Heights of Wessex (Orchestral)

Nicely done.

However - for my taste - if you use interesting solo instruments, like the tin whistle or the celtic harp in this tune, they deserve to be used more, not only a handful of notes. Could use them to show the motif a bit more, but alltogether the orchestral sound feels nice rounded.

Re: "A little cat's journey" (Piano Ballad)

Thanks for the kind comments.

Yes, I'm also not really satisfied with the sax part, would have preferred to play it for real, but lacking the necessary equipment at the moment ...

I love the PR original score, and I liked your track too, although it is a different style. :)
