Re: Vocal Compressor

Check out http://therecordingrevolution.com/. When I started using a DAW I had the tendancy to use the same rules I used back in the analog days. Trying to find that magical level as close to 0 as possible. But with a DAW you should generally be - 8 or -10 on incoming audio. Seemed foreign to me at ...

Re: Wolf is waiting with scatch vox

Thanks for the feedback, especially related to vox. It's only been recently that I have felt comfortable enough to place them more upfront in the mix. A little crazy considering I've been a vocalist in many groups. I'll play with drums and lay down final vocals soon. With what I've learned in...

Re: Wolf is waiting with scatch vox

Mark I did not feel your feedback was snarky, just wanted clarity. Nothing taken personally. We all have different taste. My reference for this was Chris Whitley's work on his album "Din" And is intended to be a pop format with edginess to transmit the insanity in the lyrical journey. I do agree I c...

Re: Wolf is waiting with scatch vox

Thanks for the feedback Mark. I am a little confused regarding your comment on the snare? You don't like the sound or is it too hot in the mix? As far as the vocal, I have some changes in the lyric that need to be rerecorded and the vox timing n the bridge needs to be tightened up. Thank you for the...

Taking Songwriting and Musicianship. So far both are good. Wish the instructor for Musicianship didn't spend have the lecture trying to impress us with his playing -

Re: Newbie Question Reaktor

Sounds like a program change parameter in the midi file. Open in Sound, use drop down to highlight program change, use eraser to remove. Should now hold the VST settting.

Re: Connecting drum pads (digital kit)

I guess fixing it in sound tab is an option. I will try that. But is there a way to get it working during monitoring of recording? That is the most frustrating thing. Would like to monitor in a "drum" voice, instead of a machine voice. Make sense?
