Re: PCIe To PCI Adapters

Thanks Joninc and aquataur. I'll have a good look at that site. Between my schoolboy German and Google translate I should be able to get the gist. Certainly lots of food for thought

Re: PCIe To PCI Adapters

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, I know my card is old but it still performs more than adequately. And Win 7 will be supported for 4 or 5 years yet. I need 4 simultaneous, balanced, line level I/O's. I don't need mic pre's or MIDI capability as I already have all that as outboard gear. So, if I go ...

PCIe To PCI Adapters

I'm on the verge of getting a new PC. I'll probably get it custom built so that I can get exactly what I want. However, I'm not sure what to do about my old PCI soundcard (M-Audio Delta 66). I don't really want to change it as it does everything I need. So, I seem to have a choice between using a mo...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

- The ability to zoom down to the sample level. This is very useful when layering samples such as drum hits into multiple tracks (an outside kick sample on track 1, and inside kick sample on track 2, kick room sample on 3..etc) to avoid a flaming effect. 1. Just checking, but do you know about the ...

Re: Snap to grid OFF shortcut not working

I have this problem too. Been meaning to report it for ages. As far as I'm aware I have a bog-standard UK keyboard. The tilde is shifted on the # key. The key to the left of 1 contains 3 symbols none of which is a tilde and none of them have the desired effect (snap off)

Re: Good deal for someone trying to start out or upgrade

Seems like it might be better/cheaper to buy or build a quiet machine in the first place rather than have to replace fans, power supplies etc after the event - I've done that a couple of times now and it pushes the cost up quite a bit

Re: Good deal for someone trying to start out or upgrade

Would machines like these be quiet enough to use in the same room you use for tracking?

Re: C'mon Acoustica - fix this problem, dammit!!

I think part of the difficulty in coming up with a good solution is that Mixcraft is used in many different ways by different people. I often use it just to get an idea down. I might just hum a tune or run through a chord progression. In that "mode" I'm not interested in naming the project...

Re: Mixcraft Audio Noise on Playback @ 96k

I had a problem with an AMD video card cause noise (clicks in my case) in spite of having the latest drivers installed. Here's a link to the thread I raised here in case it helps :( http://demon.acoustica.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=14738&sid=e4f2da0a10d70240216b694fd2f2127c ) Installing a c...

Re: M-Audio Delta 66 : Win7 Sound Problems

Greg, Yes but as I had the latest drivers for the video card and the latest drivers for the audio card I assumed it must be something else - or maybe just a manifestation of Avid's famed support since they took over M-Audio. Especially as everything worked perfectly under Windows XP I hope that anyo...

Re: M-Audio Delta 66 : Win7 Sound Problems

No, definitely the video card/driver. That's the only thing that's changed and the clicks have gone away. Anyway, I can't see the heating thermostatic cutting in/out 10 or 12 times during a 2 minute take

Re: M-Audio Delta 66 : Win7 Sound Problems

Just thought I'd update this thread in case anyone finds it in future via Google or something. Well, it turned out to be the video card driver - I conclude it's the driver as the same card worked flawlessly in Windows XP. The Win7 drivers were up to date, as were the Delta 66 drivers but the odd cli...

Backup - Feature Suggestion

I've never used MC's Backup feature as I have had my own procedure for many years. However, I've had cause to look into it recently and think it could be vastly improved - and even give Acoustica a money-making opportunity. The standard procedure in the commercial world is to back up important data ...

Re: Project/File Save

I ended up raising a support ticket for this and I'm updating the post in case it's of any help to others. It seems MC isn't smart enough to know that if I create a new folder within the "Copy Project Files To/Folder" dialogue, it doesn't need to produce the warning message "We recomm...
