Re: Sound Card Recomendations
I put in my user name and I get the same error message, I searched for Mixcraft-Log. I tried it in the search box and found nothing. I tried it in Run and found nothing. A search for appdata turned up nothing. I'm about to go out and throttle a software geek. Call me dumb but I would think th...

Re: Sound Card Recomendations
This has to do with navigating windows explorer. You need to know how to navigate your system. Yes, where it says user name you need to substitute whatever name your computer account is called, Bob, Tom, Joe whatever. Also I forgot to mention that appdata is a hidden folder. When you're in windows e...

Re: Sound Card Recomendations
Greg's method works for me. Try searching manually for the file. On my system (Win 10 64-Bit) the path to the log file is: C:\Users\UserName\appdata\roaming\Acoustica\Mixcraft\Mixcraft-Log.txt.

Re: 2 Plugins Not Appearing in FX Drop Down List
If their synthesizers they are instruments. On a virtual instrument track click on the little piano and look for vsti and under there might be your synths. :D Tom, that was it! I'm still at the ground floor and just found out today that VST i meant virtual instrument. I appreciate the help. :D

Re: File/Tag Info (Bug)
You are correct Tom. I have some Wave files on my PC and I use AudioShell Tag Editor to work with tags. They also come up when selecting file properties. So yeah, not a bad feature request.

Re: 2 Plugins Not Appearing in FX Drop Down List
I have to remind myself to subscribe to topics that I start myself. I'm surprised that we aren't automatically subscribed to our own created topics. :D "What are they? Instrument or processor/effect?" According to the publisher (Fabfilter), they are synthesizers. So more effect than proces...

2 Plugins Not Appearing in FX Drop Down List
I have 2 plugins that are not showing up when I try to add an fx to a track. I have them installed in the same folders as the others and MC 8 shows them as being active in plugin manager. I still have Tracktion on my PC and was successful pulling up these 2 plugins through Tracktion. I am suspecting...

Re: Just Starting Out w/Mixcraft 8. Some Basic Questions
I'd say use what you have and see how it works for your needs. I suspect working out settings and determining whether monitoring latency is acceptable for recording as desired will be the key issues. That's what I'm planning on doing for now, Mark. Interestingly, I'm noticing USB output through the...

Re: Will Mixcraft 8 work on my older system?
I can't answer all your questions Mark, but your system should be able to run Mixcraft 8. Now it all depends on how you use it and how complex your projects are. Right off the bat, I'd recommend more ram. Try at least 8 GB for better performance. And listed below is Melodyne's system requirements: I...

Re: Just Starting Out w/Mixcraft 8. Some Basic Questions
As far as I can tell, My motherboard has a Realtek ALC888S-VD audio chip(with only one physical S/PDIF out), which according to the Realtek website supports 97dB dynamic range playback and 90dB dynamic range recording. Not sure how good that is. I've seen dedicated card go over 100dB http://www.real...

Re: Just Starting Out w/Mixcraft 8. Some Basic Questions
Thanks for the welcome and information guys. It is definitely helpful. Just some more background: I'm an old(er) dog trying to learn some new tricks. My son is the musically educated one in the family and in the school band. I am basically dabbling in electric bass and Karaoke (wanting to add record...

Re: Just Starting Out w/Mixcraft 8. Some Basic Questions
Thanks for the reply MiltonRob. 1. So, I you're saying the Mackie mixer is insufficient as an interface? As far as the on board audio chip, are you considering this as an interface? I thought the interface was the hardware that I plugged the mics and various instruments into. I.E. mixing boards, Foc...

Just Starting Out w/Mixcraft 8. Some Basic Questions
I'm just starting out with an AMD Athlon II X4 645 3.1GHz CPU, 10 GB Ram PC, with onboard Realtek high definition audio chip and a Mackie Profx8 mixing board. I started with Tracktion 7 but wanted to look for a more user friendly option and online reviews/comments say that Mixcraft is that. For star...
