Re: Mixcraft 8

Here's an interesting idea based on an experience I had today... how about the ability to set tempo based on the length of an audio clip? For example you load an audio file and tell Mixcraft it's 16 measures long, and Mixcraft sets the tempo accordingly. It would save a lot of guesswork and fiddling...

Re: Time for that Music Radar poll again

Well I tried to vote for Mixcraft! :(

That site (or maybe just the page) is nasty. It doesn't work in Firefox (I have ad, cookie, and script blockers but turned them all off and it didn't help), and crashes IE.

Maybe it's a temporary issue, I'll try again later.

Re: Mixcraft 8

I'm sure it goes without saying that the UI appearance is a subjective thing, but I like it just the way it is... the simple visuals are part of why I chose Mixcraft. "Simple" also often means more compact, and the way its interface is designed, I think Mixcraft uses screen space much more...

Re: Removing reverb from "live" room

But as much as people like to think otherwise, mics *do* obey the laws of physics. Specifically the law that says the closer you are to a source of sound, the louder it will seem. So get the mic as close as possible to the piano... maybe even inside it. It might alter the "desired sound to reve...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

I'm not sure how necessary it is to mention it here since I think it's already on the "roadmap" but... support for VST instruments that are (software-wise) in a "wrapper" as discussed here: http://forums.acoustica.com/bbs/viewtop ... =4&t=20151 would be really nice!

Re: No sound from M-Audio Keystation 88

You might also check to see that the virtual instrument is listening to the correct MIDI device and channel. From page 30 of the manual: Clicking the down arrow on the Arm button lets you select the MIDI input and MIDI channel the track listens to. For example, if you have two keyboards and want to ...

Re: Mixcraft - Trouble Importing large .wav files.

.Wav file bitrates are crazy because they're completely uncompressed. But there could be a couple of other factors in play. First, it could have a high sample rate... obviously a 96K file will have twice the bitrate of a 48K file. Also, .avi file soundtracks often have more than two channels... 5.1 ...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Oh and one other thing: the ability to set a UNC path as the default project path (and have it work right)! Not sure I understand what you mean here. Well... it's a network thing, and doesn't mean much if you're not working on a (Windows) network. But being the geek that I am, I have a network at t...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Mark, Thanks for the response! I honestly wouldn't favor ditching the library completely... there are many nice things about it IMHO. Particularly the metadata and the ability to search/filter on same. Some of that probably would not be able to function with MIDI clips (or maybe it could but you'd h...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Hey as a fairly new user, here are a few things that jump out at me: 1) I agree with many suggestions here for enhancing the library. The ability for it to contain MIDI files would be a big help. Also to me having to add a sound clip to your project in order to import it to the library is a bit coun...

Re: Issue when changing time signature of a clip

I've noticed the same thing... instrument clips seem to be "stuck" at the time signature at which they were created. Then I saw this: Image1.png Which allows you to change the clip's time signature! It might be a little tedious if you have many clips to change, but at least it's possible.

Re: Waves Electric88

While I do like that plugin's sound, I do have to admit I didn't compare it to many others. A friend who's into recording turned my on to it, I liked the sound, "tweakability", and built-in effects, and it was on sale ($40 I think? vs. regularly $100) so I bought it. I did find another sol...

Re: Match time to existing MIDI track?

Hey thanks guys! I managed to figure out how to do it using the "flexaudio" feaure of Mixcraft... I just set the project tempo to about the right number, then basically time-stretched the track to line it up exactly with the main grid. Does anyone else here find MIDI track editing in Mixcr...

Match time to existing MIDI track?

So... can anyone offer input on a dumb noob mistake? :? Suppose hypothetically (yeah right) I were to sit down, fire up Mixcraft, set up a channel to record from external MIDI and arm it, hit the "record" button, then play a really cool riff without paying any attention to Mixcraft's tempo...
