I welcome having a chance to review the benefits of using ISOPROPANOL ALCOHOL to clean VINYL records. I have been using it for that purpose for over 40 years, as have many of my contemporary dubbers. However, it should NEVER be used on 78's and some pre 1948 45s and LPs. They are not VINYL and are a...

Hi It sounds like you might have selected "Default Wave device" For your recording device. Select the [1] choice. or let the wizzard make the proper selection for you. Also your settings should read Sample Rate 44100 Number of Buffers 16 Bit Depth 16 Bits Buffer Size 32768 This should be o...

Tip [3] - Seamless Splicing

I haven't tried this myself but a friend of mine splits and splices wma files for video presentations. As you are probably aware of my preference being for deeply cleaning Vinyl with Isopropanol Alcohol first, selecting the correct stylus and then the correct tone arm weight before dubbing into SIA;...

Hi Sorry, perhaps I didn't make myself clear. You set a marker at the end of one file and a different marker at the beginning of the next, and at all the beginnings and ends of the rest of the individual songs. You set the space between to suit yourself. Move them in and out untill you are satisfied...

Hi That's what we thought that you were doing. However, you do not need to delete the spaces in between at all. In the settings you will find a setting for the minimum size of a music file. I have mine set for 1 min 45 secs. If you do that, SIA won't read the space. Once you are happy with ALL the s...

Hi Well that covers a couple of points. My next thought was memory. If you only have a half meg you can have problems. If this is the case, before using SIA you should close all other programs and look into your Start Up file to see what else is loaded and is not needed. Hope that this is of some he...

Hi
I think that the problem might be in your settings, particularly the buffers.
the settings should read:

sample rate 44100 Number of buffers 16
Bit Depth 16 Bits Buffer size 32768

Hope that this helps

Hi My friend and I are curious as to what you are doing within the editor that can't be changed from within the editor. I imagine that others might be curious too. The only thing that we can think of would be some sort of deletions. All else can be corrected from within the editor. What edit procedu...

Hi
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it.

Isopropanol Alcohol comes 99+% pure.

Rubbing Alcohol comes 70% and should not be used, particularly on the wheel.

Tip of the Week [2]

Hello All It seems that there is good response to the new Build 46. Congrats again to the SIA Team. I am back with a Tip of the Week. This week itÔÇÖs on Tape. Tape includes Reel to Reel, 8 Track, and Cassettes. I mentioned that I had made mistakes using SIA. I probably made more dubbing to these...

It's your recording device setting that is the problem.
Let the wizzard detect your device. It should read "Sound Blaster Extreme"
Hope that this helps.

That's a very good point for all. When you upgrade or improve your equipment you should check that your settings are correct. Thanks.
Glad that you are back on track with your recording.

Hi Perhaps you inadvertinely pushed STOP rather than PAUSE. I would finish the A side; then, record the B side separately into the same folder that you created for the A side. You will only have to correct the song numbers for the B side by editing the "TITLE" at the location of the folder...

Tip of the Week [1]

Hello All It looks like another slow week for the Forum. I guess that everyone is quite satisfied with Build 42. Congrats to the SIA Team. SIA is a complicated and intricate program but great to use. There seems to be a fair amount of hits to the questions, so there must be interest. I thought that ...
