Re: Headphones for mixing

Thx for the replies. Yeah definitely looking lower end. The HD280s are on the short list along with the AT 20s (best bang/buck it seems) and the Sony MDR V6, which continue to get more favorable praise than their newer models, that I've seen.

Re: Minding Acoustica's Business

As to the music business. It is dying and revenues are in the toilet. From your link: "Revenue from music sales in the United States has hovered around $7 billion since 2010..." I'd hardly call that dying or in the toilet. It's just shifted largely to streaming. It is sad. I pity kids tod...

Re: Headphones for mixing

Thanks but I'm looking for one pair to do both, not separate for tracking and mixing (and therefore need closed back).

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Solo button: only one track should be permitted to be solo (hence the name "solo" :) ). If I have a track highlighted solo and hit solo on another, I expect that 2d track to show solo-ed and all other tracks to automatically un-solo if previously selected. IMO "Solo" should mean ...

Re: Minding Acoustica's Business

It would seems that DAWs are about to reach their zenith. Other than upgrades here and there I don't see what more anyone would want other than loops and effects and maybe some really good defaults for mixing and mastering that can analyze the music and create the "perfect" mix. Is it pos...

Re: Acoustica Instruments

Yeah I do wish they had a GUI/editor to tweak things a bit, but that's probably a tall order and they're understandably focused on the DAW itself.

Re: Acoustica Instruments

No big, just credit where credit is due. Some great stuff on the expanded instruments too, btw. People who keep thinking they have to get 3d party stuff and overlook these are making a big mistake. I've been testing out many VSTi's and these rank VERY favorably. I admit I was surprised, I didn't exp...

Acoustica Instruments

Just a shout out, these are WELL done IMO, I plan to use and thankfully won't need a lot of 3d party stuff.

Re: Headphones for mixing

Thx all for the input so far. Really the mixing will be secondary to listening on my speakers, but still a consideration.

Re: Mixcraft still the easiest learning curve!

There's also tried and true products that have stood the test of time. Sure you could do blind tests etc but there are products out there that are industry standards for a reason. My brother has SM57s and 58's from the 80's that are still kicking despite being through hell and back. Yes, we get you...

Re: Mixcraft still the easiest learning curve!

Sure gear and hardware has become cheaper and more affordable and does the job but there's a difference between doing the job and doing it well and reliably and for an extended period of time (and here I do still firmly believe that you get what you pay for and I don't mean in terms of features or ...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!

Vst Auto organise By Vendors to be categorised A little more ability or options on the VST lists would be nice, but tbh way down my list - what's there works fine IMO. And must add a future auto Replece with VST 3 AND vst Yeah implement that in like......version 15. :) Won't be needed before then.
