What you are asking about is the very basic function of multitracking, sound on sound recording. Mixcraft does so much more than that! But........ "good PC Mic" worries me......... you might have yourself setup for frustration if you expect to plug in a mic to your PC and be able to record...

You will always have latency issues using your on board sound card.

Hey Eric, just a suggestion. Maybe you could explain that those drum loops/samples are .ogg files and add a few tips on transporting/using them. It may not be obvious to some.
