Re: DAWs
P.S. Ask Graham which DAW he uses and why.
Re: DAWs
I don't understand the comment "If you don't have a need to trade files with other studios".... Does that mean I can't trade recordings I make in Mixcraft with a studio that uses Pro-tools? No worries, you can share your project stems with users of about any reputable DAW. Just one of man...
Re: DAWs
I think that he finds it silly when we're talking about "professional" DAWs but name DAWs that only really compete in the virtual creation, I'm-sitting-on-my-laptop-computer-in-my-bedroom-or-recording-in-my-souped-up-garage-studio market. When it comes to the original purpose of DAWs, Pro...
Re: DAWs
Bitwig?!?!?!? Studio one? Really? This thread is getting silly. Most pro studios still use Pro Tools, and to a lesser degree Nuendo and Sonar. Not nesesarily because they are better than other programs. In the case of Pro Tools they gained a foothold on the market when computer recording was new, an...

Re: OFC Guitar Problem
Get that baby onto a mass production line immediately, before someone beats you to it! If Fender can sell road worn and pawn shop guitars that have been beat on with a hammer, set on fire, and have the finish rubbed off, I think you've got a real winner there. Kids everywhere will clamor to buy it.

Re: Lean Mean Mixcraft Machine
I have an XP machine with nothing but music related software in it. This machine will never see the internet again. I can go on this way indefinitely. But....... If you're running XP it would be wise to stay off the net.

Re: Windows XP - End Of Life - April 8 2014
I would also like to add this folk wisdom cliche- "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." All the components and software in my system are playing nice together, and I intend to keep it that way. PS- I asked in the big Mixcraft 7 thread, but never got an answer. I know it's a lot to hope for, a...

Re: Windows XP - End Of Life - April 8 2014
XP is alive and well for me. I have a closed DAW system that no longer goes on the internet. I am happy with my current software choices and audio interface. I am satisfied with the performance of my system. I have my back up boot disks, and intend to use XP for as long as possible. Windows 8? Bah. ...

Re: Guitar in one octave lower for bass
Hi Laser, It has been suggested that your best option is to buy a bass. If you decide to go this route I have a suggestion. Get a short scale bass. They are much easier to play for people who are primarily guitar players. By comparison a standard long scale bass will feel like the neck is a block lo...

Agreed. But I view these as novelty toys anyway, so why pay much for one. No viable substitute yet for singing them.Ianpb wrote:I tried that too and found it to sound synthetic within a mix.
