Re: New MIDI (and audio) routing capability

A modern DAW should be able to route MIDI or Audio to any track available, like in the old analogue days with a (MIDI or audio) patchbay. Alas, Mixcraft 8 - as far as I know - doesn't bring up this feature. Native sidechaining as installed with Mixcraft 8 is a great achievement (and works rather fin...

shift/mouse (resizing tracks)

Has anyone (but me and Eric) realized that the resizing of the height of all tracks with shift/mouse doesn't work as smoothely as it did in Mixcraft 7? It's imprecise and unsteady. Surplus: tracks that were large before the action stay larger than the rest after the action.

Re: Function for Selecting Events

Reading the manual surely would help sometimes.... "Selecting Notes Click on a note to select it. Alternatively, select the Arrow tool and drag a selection. All notes that fall within the selection rectangle are selected. Hold down the SHIFT or CTRL key to select multiple notes. Double-clicking...

Re: *** Plugins Poll ***

An equalizer with spectrum cloning function would be useful, especially for beginners. It's nice to have a start from where you can go on to match a certain sound you have in mind. I use the MAudioDynamicEq from Melda-Productions which is affordable and does a good job. Curve-EQ from Voxengo is anot...

Re: Issue when changing time signature of a clip

I see what Ianpb means, the grid of the time-line changes when changing time-signature, but the clip stays the same length, so a 4/4 changed to 3/4 has an extra hit (the fourth one) in the next bar. That makes sense musically. But there is a slight bug with this issue: All editors stay in 4/4 after ...

Re: 3/8, 6/8, 12/8 measure for midi

If you want real 3/8 or 5/4 or something like that, you can type this directly into the little window that's to the right of the transport-controls. Standard is 120bpm, 4/4 and C. There you can change the 4/4 to whatever you want. If you want a 4/4 Song having a 6/8 bluesy feeling, you should go the...

Re: Can't Import my Loop Library ..WHY?

The Video shows it all. Make sure you have the filetypes marked! I just tested it with a few wav-files and it worked perfectly. The one thing that will not function is: you should not type in the name of an exisiting, Mixcraft-own library. You must choose an new name that does not crop up in the lib...

Re: Can't Import my Loop Library ..WHY?

I too had troubles regarding issue this some time ago. For some strange reason known only to the developers, Mixcraft obviously doesn't allow storage of imported sounds in its own existing libraries. If you accept Mixcraft's suggestion of "Import to "Imported" library" in the Imp...

Re: Ezd2 as a midi instrument (piano roll interface)

Hi BillW you can open three tracks with three separate EZDrummer-instances, but what for? Why don't you just edit the events in one track and one piano/drumroll? Creating several tracks for each drum-instrument makes sense with Mixcrafts Studiodrums, because they don't have multiple outputs. Supplem...

Re: Trouble with changing tempos

I have the same problem with Messiah. It has a hickup when the tempo changes, the first and sometimes second note play in the old tempo, and so the arpeggio gets messed up. Minimogue has a similar problem, it sometimes loses the second note when the Apreggiator is turned on. Most other vst synths wi...

Re: Note velocity on chords

I requested this feature several times ... drawing a velocity curve is very inaccurate. Mixcraft lets you drag the chosen notes in the editor wherever you want them, but it doesn't allow to change the velocity of selected notes per mouse. To change the velocity in distinct steps you have to do the f...

Re: Freexing tracks

I had never problems with frozen tracks, but I seldom use them because they can't be cut or moved when changes in the arrangement are necessary. I use the "MIX TO NEW AUDIO TRACK" function when the CPU gets overloaded, which mixes the track as an audio file to a new track including all eff...

Re: It's always something - SFZ issues

Hi Bill, try this: http://www.zampler.de/ Zampler is a free SFZ-sampleplayer (just a .dll, no installer) in 64- and 32-bit-versions with a lot of features (multiple effects, arpeggiator, matrix). On the homepage are a whole bunch of free librairies available for download. The homepage is in German (...

Re: Omni Sampler Question

Hi Bill, Hi Greg, I think I understand the question, and it's an interesting one everyone comes across when changing the computer. I think Bill wants to now where the presets of the VSTs are, the homemade ones which you saved with the blue disk-symbol in the top right corner of the VST's GUI. I can ...
