Project/File Save
I'm confused about this. There are 3 things I don't understand First. I started a new project. I didn't name it in the "New project Settings" window. I just armed a track and started recording. I made a complete hash of it so I deleted the track and started recording again. When I finished...

Re: Copy to folder disaster - what happend in 251?
Just to add my 2pence...... I've always found Mixcrafts file handling confusing and seem to end up with files and folders I wasn't aware of. I would like MC to work just like Word or almost any other software. I don't care where the temp folders are or what they're called while I'm working on someth...

Re: USB Audio Interface. Recommendations?
I can't do that. The compressor runs at line level so it needs to be inserted after the interface's mic pre's.

Re: USB Audio Interface. Recommendations?
So, I'm leaning heavilly towards Focusrite (probably a 6i6) BUT, I regularly use an external compressor and it doesn't have any inserts. Does the control software enable me to route the output back to another input? So would I be able to plug a mic into Input 1, route the output to output 1, run tha...

Re: USB Audio Interface. Recommendations?
So, is there a consensus that Focusrite have the best (IE quietest) mic pre's?

Re: USB Audio Interface. Recommendations?
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them out. I came across the Akai EIE Pro. It seems to do everything I need and is relatively inexpensive. I' m just not sure about the mic pre's. Unfortunately the specs don't include noise figures. Has anybody used Akai stuff? Also the Behringer FCA1616 seems ...

USB Audio Interface. Recommendations?
I'll shortly be looking for a USB audio interface. I need 4 simultaneous inputs, ideally switchable between mic/line/ Hi-Z with separate level control for each so that I can capture 4 independent tracks in MC. Separate outputs for headphone and studio monitors would be good, again with independent l...

Re: DirectX effects MC7
Yes, I was pissed off to find that DX was no longer supported but I don't revisit old projects that often so I'm not as badly affected a you. Could you install a wrapper, open your old projects in MC6, put your DX effects inside the wrapper then save the projects? That way you should be able to open...

Re: DirectX effects MC7
MC7 doesn't support Direct X plugins as I found when testing. Fortunately I only use a couple and this : http://www.kvraudio.com/product/ffx-4-by-vb-audio enabled me to continue using them. If you need more than 4 I think there's a vesrion that allows for more - you have to buy it though.

Re: Shift scores?
Hi, We haven't made any updates to notation in Mixcraft 7 as far as I know. If you need more advanced notation features, you might check out Musescore . Greg In case anybody is interested there is a new release of Musescore imminent and a beta version is available at the moment. One of the new feat...

Re: Peak Slammer
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Yes, that seems to do the trick nicely. Shame it installs so many other plugins. Not that you have to use them but I guess there must be some good ones in there and there's just too many to try them all out.
Thanks again for pointing me to this

Re: Peak Slammer
@Clavguy. No it's not a gate. It's a limiter in the sense that it reduces everything above the selected threshold down to the specified level. However, it does it on a sample by sample basis so it leaves any audio below the threshold alone. It has no attack or release times and just reduces each sam...

Peak Slammer
Peak Slammer is an old DirectX plugin that controls peaks. This overview probably describes better than I can : "Unlike limiting that raises and lowers the volume over time, Peak Slammer operates on individual cycles. You specify the loudest allowable level, and Peak Slammer reduces the volume ...

Re: M-Audio Delta 66 : Win7 Sound Problems
They sound more like electrical interference. Actually they remind me of listening to vinyl and funnily enough, Cooledit's de-clicker gets rid of them. As I mentioned earlier in the thread my PC is dual boot and if I boot into XP everything works properly as it always has done. However, if I boot in...
