Hi Eric I found the device by Googling "Music Maker" USB It looks like an old portable radio with speakers built in I am guessing that we have a sound loop with the computer speakers acting like a mike. It might be OK if Barb can turn off the Music Maker's speakers or if she unplugs the Co...

Hi We have had a few of these in the last while. You might want to do a search of the forum and try some of the solutions. 1) For us to help you, we would need to know how you are hooked up to your computer. Start with the computer i.e. Does your "Music Maker" input to a USB Port? If so, t...

Hi When you deleted the temporary file, that was it. It's a good idea to listen to the beginings and ends of all songs before deleting the temp. I am guessing that you have a song that you clipped and a song that has the clipped bit as a lead in. If so, you can run the one with the extra bit a file ...

Hi Martin Glad that you knew where to find the SIA file. Thanks for the "come back." I don't know of any site that does comments and comparisons. I would expect that Googling for it would bring results. I think that there is a site, as I believe that Eric mentioned it. You got me thinking ...

Hi Martin I should have mentioned to you that once you are at the EDIT screen, SIA has made a copy of what you have recorded. Note the top Music Stream when you are editing. If you crash anytime after that point, you can find the recording file copy and then run it through in the "Load A Sound ...

Hi I see 3 possible faults here. The first is that the "RCA" plugs coming out of the back of the BOX will be "INPUT" cords meant to attach a Turntable to to play through your BOX and its speakers. There is no way that they can be used as "OUTPUT" jacks to your computer....

Turntable Speed and Song Length

Turntable Speed ItÔÇÖs been a while since weÔÇÖve discussed turntable speed. So, I thought that I would use that as a Topic, because I am going to replace my belt. You should have a system for determining the correct speed. As my turntable is belt driven, I use the following method. I find a p...

Hi Ray Thanks for the feedback, it's nice to know how advice works on Forums. You might hear that ISO Alcohol will damage vinyl records; this is nonsence. However, don't use it on composition [non Vinyl] records, it will destroy them. The test for determining if a record is Vinyl is to lightly twist...

Hi This is a Windows resource problem. It still happens to me once in a while. Check that your Settings are correct; i.e. Sample Rate 44100 Number of Buffers 16 Bit Depth 16 bits Buffer size 32768 I am now using 4 mg ram; 2 mgs is the least that you will need. Also, close down all other programs tha...

Hi I took a look at, and experimented with, your file size problem. It appears that SIA in a Mono setting makes a single sound stream to be used in Mono applications. If you use it in a stereo system; i.e. Windows Media Player; the player automatically duplicates the sound stream so that both left a...

Hi I cannot help on your file size problem. Other than to tell you to ask yourself; does it sound right? However, on digitizing single songs, I would continue to correct the volume on each of them. The alternative would be to change [increase or decrease] the percentage [%] of the input volume allow...

This is the method that I use and have used for over a year.

Hi
It's simpler to use an Ipod style cord [1/8 to 1/8 aprox] from your headphone jack [You say you have sound at the headphone jack] to Line In on your computer. Although this might not work with Windows 7.

Hi The Key is to catch it before you make the CD. If I have been away from the computer while the music was recording, I spot test about 5 places in each song to see if there might be a problem. Also, I have carefully looked at the record with a magnifying glass while I am deep cleaning it. I then k...
