Pre-Fader for Master Track
Greetings, I have not used Mixcraft regularly for a prolonged time, so the concepts fade out of my memory. After having to upgrade to W10 recently, I tried to get the DAW running smoothly again. Today I hauled in a music mp3 to check if the interface works and I noticed, that the DAW´s meters go int...

Re: Vintage compressors reverse engineered with ReaComp
Thank you Mark. Good to view you too. Against all odds, I managed to solve the conundrum. Ed. 2 is out (link on top) and I find it useful myself. Hey, I have written my own help manual. Keep revisting that page, this is work in progress. Let me know if anything needs more attention. Have fun, -Helmut

Re: Ganging (linking) faders on several instances of a plugin
Thank you for your reply. I was indeed trying to daisy-chain two compressors and link some of their controls. This does not make sense normally, but refers to an attempt made here that tries to eliminate a subjective "flaw" in Reacomp by daisy-chaining two instances. It has turned out that...

Re: Ganging (linking) faders on several instances of a plugin
Thanks for your reply.
I can map both instance's faders to the same CC number, but only one moves.
I don´t have an external device that produces MIDI.

Ganging (linking) faders on several instances of a plugin
Hi, I am currently working on a thing that asks for two consecutive (equal) plugins, and I want to gang their faders. I saw this in Reaper with Reacomp, and it works via MIDI. Two instances of a plugin on a track see each others faders on the list of available MIDI controls. It is similar to midi co...

modify MIDI Reference pitch from A=440
Hi,
is there any way to change a MIDI part´s reference pitch to other than A=440? I want to experiment with subtle changes, not halftones or the like.
Thanks,
-Helmut

Re: Never seen the built-in tuner actually work
I spent more time with GTune. Like many others it displays a green center that lulls you into the confidence of believing you have perfect pitch. It has the advantage though that it displays below how many cents your are off. In comparison, you clearly see the display rotating on a strobe tuner for ...

Re: Never seen the built-in tuner actually work
I checked the TC polytune VST. This seems to be an older version, but works. Be prepared to wait ages for the C++ library to download and install. I thought this had stalled, because it showed no signs of progress. Yes it works. What they call "stream mode" is supposed to be akin to a stro...

Re: Never seen the built-in tuner actually work
Some more contemplation leads me to the following conclusions: I share the feelings about the supplied tuner. By the time you hit the DAW, you are pretty late to think about tuning. It is not the DAW´s purpose to guarantee correct tuning, so having a tuner there can only be a crutch at best. Many of...

Re: Never seen the built-in tuner actually work
There is a VST from GVST called GTune . Thats what Greg is probably referring to. It works better. I only can get it to work on playback however. A pseudo strobe tuner used to exist called G-tune . This seems obsoleted. The author says his product is now Strobosoft from Peterson. You have to have 49...

Re: BOSS VE-20 VOCAL PERFORMER
I have a similar TC Helicon device that uses a guitar´s strumming to determine the chord to harmonize to. Since this is not practical on a track-by-track recording scenario, I forked a guitar-like synth track that plays on one of my interface outputs into the TC-Helicon. This works a treat (if your ...

Re: Plug-in Hygiene (when are they using resources?)
When I still had my 32bit machine, memory was at its limits when using samplers like EZD. I observed that memory does not get released when unloading plug-ins or upon freezing. I requested that feature, but as of now (end of V.7 development) this does not seem to have changed. With 64 bits and oodle...
