Re: PureMIx, Sweetwater, Dangerous Music Announce Mixing Con
As usual, you hit it right on the head. The vocal is going to be key. As powerful as her voice is, it needs to dominate the mix, but the high end is going to be tricky. Lot's of sibilance and it sounds like a condenser mic ..... The drums and bass need to drive the song and the guitar is a fill (exc...

Re: PureMIx, Sweetwater, Dangerous Music Announce Mixing Con
Trevlyn, that's great! Vocals or instruments? Can you let me hear what you come up with? Yeah! I had to back off, besides the wife was getting upset that I was spending too much time in the "studio". Any thoughts on cleaning up the vocla form the stem recoridng. This gal has some VERY stro...

Re: PureMIx, Sweetwater, Dangerous Music Announce Mixing Con
After listening to this song about 150 times, my hears hurt. I've lost perspective and can't seem to come up with new ideas. Haven't heard anything posted to Soundcloud so far that really stands out. Everyone's double tracked the guitar, some have done good on the voice but lose it on the drums, etc...

Re: PureMIx, Sweetwater, Dangerous Music Announce Mixing Con
Yeah Boy! There are a bunch of mixes out there. Some good ones too. The competition is tough. Not sure what's going to make one stand out over the other.

Re: PureMIx, Sweetwater, Dangerous Music Announce Mixing Con
Great insight mbliss! I agree totally. What appeared to be a simple setup is going to take some work. I figured out the upsample/downsample issue and your correct. You don't really gain anything but additional "headroom" in the wav file. Lot's of pros and cons on the usbject but if you wan...

Re: Share your Mixcraft creations on MixcraftLive.
Thanks Scotswolfe! I did get an answer from Acoustica support that they were looking in to this issue. Hopefully it's an easy fix. Agree that the spam needs to go away, the Mixcrfat Live forum needs a little extra monitoring.

Re: PureMIx, Sweetwater, Dangerous Music Announce Mixing Con
Quick question. The Stem files are 44100-24 bit mono (except the drum overhead file which is stereo). Do you lose/gain any quality if you convert these to 96000 24 bit. The 96000 rate allows more headroom for effects and sonic processing, but since the oriiginal recording is only 44100, I worry the ...

Re: PureMIx, Sweetwater, Dangerous Music Announce Mixing Con
Great stuff! I kind of figured the "big boys" would be playing in this. I'm looking forward to suggestions and input. It boils down to the "mix" being what you think makes the song stand out. I think trevor should give this a shot, or at least provide philosophical input and mora...

Re: Want to buy but can't change ASIO (Lexicon Alpha) rates
Maybe this DI needs windows to help it out. If you enable it in windows (and keep the onboard sound card disabled and other audio devices disabled) and then go into the windows settings in sound devices does it let you set it to 48000? If so, check back through Mixcraft, preferences, sound device , ...

Re: I need help on recording vocals please [:
This is not really my style of music, but I believe that the singing doesn't stand out because all your instruments are squashing each other in the same frequency range and stereo field. In other words they all interfere with each other. Try panning your instruments left and right and set your vocal...

Re: Want to buy but can't change ASIO (Lexicon Alpha) rates
The Lexicon DI is reliant on the DAW or the windows setup. It doesn't allow for individual setup through it's interface (if I read their brochures right). I've had the best luck for the price with the M-Audio stuff. It's not that much more expensive than the lexicon and gives you a broader range of ...

Did you disable the lexicon also in windows? And when you went into the mixer setup for mixcraft from the sound device did it let you set to 48000?

Re: Want to buy but can't change ASIO (Lexicon Alpha) rates
Trevlyn I have a post "PC and Laptop Setup for Best Performance With Mixcraft" that I put up several weeks ago. It may be a way to remove the windows interference from your setup. It works with my M-Audio C600 and I'd be curious if it works with the DI mentioned in these posts. Can someone...
