Re: Mixdown blues...

The vocal sounds very clean and crisp, nice recording. But I can't really hear much else to judge whats going on there. As far as the description of something changing between playback within Mixcraft and after rendering, I think the replies so far probably have covered it. But I am wondering if yo...

Re: Mixdown blues...

What is your target mixdown format? If it's MP3, what bitrate are you using and what happens if you change it? What happens to the sound if you mix down to a lossless format? I'm wondering if you might be falling foul of some psychoacoustic encoding issue in the MP3 encoder... Mike Thank you. The m...

Re: Mixdown blues...

Nicely done! Vocals are great, good tone and clarity! :D. Another possibility on your sound issue could be that some effects don't play well at frequencies above 48000. They will in effect not apply on mixdown. Something to consider! :) Thank you. I am beginning to learn that even though some outsi...

Re: Mixdown blues...

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly but the latest project I'm messing around with in Mixcraft 7,when you click & drag across the top to highlight a section for mixdown the mixed down section sounds dull & bassy.not @ all like the original but more like someone put a towel over the s...

Re: Mixdown blues...

Just listened to your "good" take - I would certainly rate it much higher than good! I love the laid back groove that you have on this - you appear to have balanced out the bass that you mention and it has a great mellow feel. If I was to change anything the guitar is perhaps slightly (bu...

Mixdown blues...

I was working on a wav file last night because it was way too bassy. I got it to where it was sounding fine in MC but when rendered as a mixdown it automatically opened up in Windows Media and sounded much like the original. I checked to make sure i was playing the mixed down version. I don't unders...

Re: Audio Interface survey

I just made the plunge into the world of DAW's and have yet to lock down the major hardware for doing anything really wonderful. What I have been using (pre-DAW) is an LTI Blox laptop interface by Rapco Horizon. It has a 1/8" stereo plug on one end and an XLR male on the other. I have used it t...

Re: What do you guys think of this one? (Only Mixcraft 6-sou

Hey, I'm just the new guy here but when I see a post asking what I think... well... sometimes I will be scathingly honest. Since I'm a audio guy, I'm allowed to be that way. (While being as much a politician as I can stand.) So, that proverbial grain of salt will always apply to any of my comments a...
