Re: Needing a new interface
OK "rubbish" might be a bit strong but more than one person is saying they have bad drivers and latency problems and that struck me as odd if these same devices were being unconditionally recommended when they were current. How could AI's with bad drivers and poor latency performance ever...

Re: Needing a new interface
Focusrites are great interfaces, and only seem to be getting better. I'm not sure why anyone would think otherwisebotface wrote:It's funny reading this thread. A few years ago (before Gen 2) Focusrite was being enthusiastically recommended for any enquiry about interfaces. Now they're rubbish!

Re: Routing Midi
Really its more just about standardising it. The audio seems pretty standardised. A track can read audio from mostly anywhere, and send it mostly anywhere. I assume (considering sidechaining would be ...... awkward.... without it). So just that on midi. If a plug puts midi out, let me send it somewh...

Re: Needing a new interface
Hi, I've got a Behringer UMC204HD here in the office, and it works great. But 2nd. gen. Focusrites seem to be solid, too. There are a lot of interfaces I don't hear much about, which might mean that they don't have many problems, or that hardly anyone uses them. Zoom seems to have lots of problems....

Re: Routing Midi
Greg, I know this is a big ask. But can you get midi routing prioritized as a feature? Its a genuine show stopper for serious midi workloads.

Re: Routing Midi
Argh. The midi monitor approach looked promising. But , while it turns up on the instrument track. It doesn't want to appear on the audio track after midi guitar.
This is crazy frusturating.
Aaaah its just a way to record midi from a plug anyway. Yeah thats not it. Damn.

Re: Make music notes match vocals in Melodyne?
Yep. Its not an automatic process, but as long as its monophonic, you can tweak the notes to match the audio assuming you render the audio from the instrument first. If you want polyphonic, you'll need the full blown edition (MAYBE the mid range version can, don't know)

Re: Routing Midi
Its pretty fundamental functionality.
What sort of timeframe are we looking at for it being implemented?

Re: Orchestral VSTs
As an OS, Windows 10 64 bit will indeed support substantially more than 8 Gb of RAM, perhaps 128 GB for Win 10 Home and 512 GB for Pro. However, PC makers certify their machine for a lesser amount sometimes. I don't know if it's the mother board or some other factor. Then again, installing more tha...

Re: Orchestral VSTs
Thanks chibear. Full version of Kontakt would open more doors for me. I do need to consider that avenue. EWQL seems like it would in fact be best. But the price is pretty steep for what I'm willing to spend now. All in all, great and very helpful information! Do consider the EWQL "Composer clo...

Routing Midi
Hi, I use Jam Origins MidiVST , and another plugin (ProtoVST) that lets me use LUA to write midi filters for doing more funkier Midi tasks (Particularly rewriting CC Cues for triggering articulations in EastWest Play engine). I cant do this in Sonar, and I can do it in Play. But I'm damned if I can ...

Re: Mixcraft Suggestions!
The big ones for me would be better support for clocking. I like to work with Tape from time to time, and usually that means I'll stripe a channel with time code and then sync off that. This would also be pretty damn important for the film soundtrack people. Also , and its a big ask , but it would b...

My guess is Apple want Camelphat and Camelspace for Logic Pro. Probably Alchemy too.
That means it'll go bye bye on the PC. Bummer.

Re: Optimize your PC for Mixcraft!
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns Check them out particularly "AutoRuns"!!! Ever since I've had my Focusrite: whenever I booted my notebook I'd have to ensure that it's outputs were turned down both on the unit as well as on my mixer because at bootup time t...

Re: Sonivox Orchestral Companions (and others) on Sale
Sonivox is a joke; I wouldn't take their stuff for free (since it would still mean I'd need the stupid iLok BS). lol @ requiring iLok for trials. Amazing how some companies seem intent on alienating their potential paying customer base. Don't even get me started on frigging waves and their f***king...
